Allan started to panic when he heard there was a shortage of...........

........beer and chocolate.

Hmmm....Allan only seems to have a fever on Saturday nights.....when OH hides the beer and chocolate after she read somewhere that you should give your pet activities to do rather than just fed them....

Allan heard on the grapevine about a Captain Tom getting £15mil for walking up and down and wondered why Private Allan wasn’t getting anything for his great journey.

(Well do e Captain Tom - an inspiration <3 )

Allan

Allan Report 16 Apr 2020 22:17

Possibly because Capt.. Tom's feat was real as were his feet.

Good on ya, Tom, but don't let them promote you and then offer you the chance of a ride up to the space-station.

If this Thread had been started at the same time last year it could have been a very short one, particularly as the cruise undertaken in 2018 was on the 'Ovation of the Seas' and passengers disembarked in Sydney at the same terminal as passengers from the 'Ruby Princess'.

Both have a very sad recent history :-(

nameslessone

nameslessone Report 17 Apr 2020 09:11

:-( :-(

But if Allan had met the Ruby Princess he could have borrowed her slippers and...……..

Allan

Allan Report 17 Apr 2020 11:26

clicked his heels the appropriate number of times and turned his toes up :-0

But where would the wicked witch of the west have dropped him??

Perhaps Allan cold join in with Capt Tom and walk in his own garden?? I feel like I'm joining him when I'm walking every day :-)

Allan

Allan Report 18 Apr 2020 01:14

Shhhh! The wicked witch of the west is still upstairs, fast asleep ;-)

Allan

Allan Report 4 Jun 2020 23:25

Well, as the world appears to be easing lockdown conditions, Allan and his OH are relatively free to travel the imaginary worlds once again and meet all those mythical, and mystercal, beings that inhabit the over fertile minds of the fantasists.....and Allan would know all about fantasies, but we won't dwell on THAT side of his character ;-)

nameslessone Report 5 Jun 2020 07:58

A lot of groaning and creaking could be heard as Allan’s voices woke up and stretched.

Allan

Allan Report 5 Jun 2020 09:17

Do not mention the groaning; please, not the groaning!

It's akin to Basil Fawlty not mentioning the War

nameslessone

nameslessone Report 5 Jun 2020 10:03

Allan began to wish he'd never woken the voices up as there was suddenly a lot of chattering noise going on inside his head.

Allan

Allan Report 6 Jun 2020 13:05

Well the chattering soon stopped!

Perhaps Allan was returning to, what for him, was normality.

nameslessone

nameslessone Report 6 Jun 2020 17:25

Allan had forgotten that his voices could be very quiet when they were planning something........

Allan

Allan Report 24 Jun 2020 00:06

It must be a very cunning and devious plan ;-) :-D :-D

nameslessone Report 24 Jun 2020 10:31

The voices were exhausted with blowing and blowing, and still the house hadn’t fallen down.

(Sorry, hope the insurance and remedial work is all on course)

Allan once again stuck his nose over the parapet to see if it was safe to come out. He quickly sat down again to ponder which was worse, the COVID pandemic or American politics.

Allan

Allan Report 19 Aug 2020 12:32

To help him reach a decision he dragged out his trusty two-headed coin.

Either way he was bound to find the correct answer, although he had been known, in moments of extreme intoxication, to call out "Tails"

However, given the current world conditions, there was little to distinguish the current pandemic from American politics.

Both have caused major disruptions and the majority of the world's population just wish that they would both disappear as soon as possible.

Meanwhile there was a journey to continue.

Allan had walked many miles in another man's shoes.

Allan just hoped that he had walked far enough before the other man realised that his shoes were missing.

nameslessone

nameslessone Report 20 Aug 2020 10:55

Allan could relax. There is no way that the original owner of the shoes would ever want them back.

But Allan, ever resourceful, wondered if he could refashion what was left of the shoes and make them into something else that was useful.
