Forget the mushrooms what about that magic roundabout.....

Allan

Allan Report 26 Jan 2020 21:27

Oh Yes.

Florence, Dougal, Mr Zebedee (he always had a spring in his step) and all the other imaginary characters.

Didn't they join forces against Puff the Magic Dragon, with the final battle taking place in a Yellow Submarine

Ah! Those were the daze, or so I'm told, because I don't really remember them ;-)

Caroline

Caroline Report 26 Jan 2020 21:35

I do wonder what my teachers were on with all their hippy songs for us when we were kids.....dear old Puff.....

With that Allan started walking through the forest he found himself in, scattering mushrooms as he went and singing about being by the sea....

Allan

Allan Report 26 Jan 2020 21:48

He was now lost both deep in the forest and deep in thought, but being male he refused the opportunity of asking a friendly Unicorn for directions.

Caroline

Caroline Report 26 Jan 2020 21:53

Exactly....no male would ever do such a thing.....now what did they tell him at school lichen grows on which side of the tree.....oh squirrel......he chased off as fast as he could only to fall into...

Allan

Allan Report 26 Jan 2020 22:24

The arms of the dusky maiden, who was herself looking a little lost.

At least that was Allan tried to explain the situation to his OH who had just found him in this compromising situation

nameslessone Report 6 Feb 2020 12:58

Allan was playing around with bits of wire from his OH’s capacious bag when he picked a world news bulletin - he thought they’d probably be safer staying where they were.
But food supplies were getting low.......

Caroline

Caroline Report 6 Feb 2020 14:38

"Where's a 24-hour convenience store when you need one," thought Allan

And as if by magic.....back to mushrooms again I fear....

nameslessone

nameslessone Report 6 Feb 2020 21:09

Each time Allan ate those mushrooms he then forgot where he had found them. So he was continually searching for them

Allan

Allan Report 6 Feb 2020 21:13

A random thought crossed Allan's mind

In fact it crossed quite freely as there was nothing there to impede its progress.

Just what is a '24-hr Convenience Store'?

How is going shopping at, say, 02:30 or 04:00, convenient?

You have to crawl out of bed and the first decision to be made is whether you'll get fully dressed or shop in your pyjamas, which I am the first to admit is a funny place to find a shop :-S

Then do you first make a cup of coffee to wake you up, but then what if it is a jar of coffee that you are wanting to purchase so that you can.....oh never mind.

Shopping during the wee hours is as inconvenient as having to get out of bed for a piddle (pun intended) during those same nocturnal hours, although it must be admitted that the consequences could be far more dire if you didn't as compared to not going shopping.

Allan, the Great Philosopher who immortalised that thought: I'm pink, therefore I'm spam.

He was always putting Descartes before de horse ;-) :-D :-D

So much to ponder about............

Allan now wondered whether he should pay heed to the date and dream up some Valentine fine dining to treat OH. Perhaps that would help the situation concerning a certain dusky maiden.
But stocks were low, so what to do?

Allan

Allan Report 14 Feb 2020 09:22

Should he buy his wife two or three Roses for Valentines Day?

What the heck. if he had access to a shop he would buy her a whole box; after all this was their Golden Wedding year.

As it was, having no phone, he couldn't even phone Dominoes Pizza for a home delivery for two very good reasons. Firstly he hated pizzas with a vengeance, and secondly he had no phone.

Life sure was tough at the bottom!

nameslessone Report 14 Feb 2020 14:43

Having reminded himself( ;-)) that in the real world this was their golden year Allan started to have a rethink on where they were getting their water - was it time to start panning - but what with?

Allan

Allan Report 18 Feb 2020 21:17

Well obviously with the frying pan which he was saving for the forthcoming Shrove Tuesday.

He might as well use it for something as he had left his dolly pot behind and was unable to crush any potential ore bearing quartz.

For years until he actually obtained one, Allan thought that a Miner's Right was some sort of Religious Ceremony

The right of the 'first night', perhaps.

An old much used privilege of something to do for the local Squire.

nameslessone Report 19 Feb 2020 10:06

Allan gets into enough trouble with the girl with the amazing coconuts.

His other half is now practising the swinging of her capacious (and heavily laden) bag just in case Allan gets the wrong idea about first nights.

Allan

Allan Report 19 Feb 2020 20:52

What wrong ideas could Allan have regarding first nights?

He was only maintaining an old, and most pleasurable tradition

From an early age he had exercised his right so to do, and became well known at all the local theatres when new plays started their performances.

It was his own little thespian Droit du seignuer ;-)

nameslessone Report 23 Feb 2020 09:35

Allan had been dozing and woke up thinking he had been wrapped in a warm furry blanket which smelt of marmalade sandwiches...………..
