I do have a lot of fun on this site and I have had a lot of support - I would be lost without GR - sad I know, but that's the way it is

It's nice to meet fellow members and put a face to a name and to discover that you already knew their personality before you met

Sue, Jude, Sandie, the much loved Daff, all top people, and many others

JustJohn

JustJohn Report 9 Jan 2013 21:03

Why is everybody suddenly being so nice to me? I am deeply uneasy :-( :-( :-( :-(

Much more comfortable with hate. And good for the boards.

Unless you all hate me, how do we get Sue's thread over the 1,000 mark :-S :-S

John Today you said...
I have not met anyone on chat, have no intention of ever meeting anyone on chat

also today you said... Have no problem with meeting anyone on here as long as they don't want to thump me without a fair trial first

What one is it?

Chat sites may be a bit of a laugh to you a place you can go & wind up people, but for some people it is a life line the only contact some people have with the outside world. You will do well to remember that fact next time you wish to wind up people.

those I have met have been wonderful and I think of them dearly..........

John gets--------a verbal bashing because he dares say it,,,just stop being so nasty,,,,,,,remember how dammed rotten Eldrick was treated because he spoke his mind,

OOOh, John, just thinking the same about the thread total ;-)

This is getting to be like the opening scene of Macbeth, with variations - some valid, some frustrating, some probably unnecessary in open forum.

I'm a 'newbie' as far as posting is concerned - been a member a while, but didn't subscribe - the 'Maestro' of the keyboard was the one to 'invigilate' then (yn angel hardd :-) )

However, I have read the offerings over the years - so have been a 'grey ghost' of GR for a while :-D though I admit, there have been some gaps in that coverage.

There have been 'battles past', but I don't really recall quite so much, imho, vitriol dripping off the keyboards. As stated there have been gaps in my readership, and I know there has been genuine annoyance, even anger, in days of yore. But in the end, it doesn't really benefit either party to don the accoutrements of combat - just leaves a metallic taste (in my experience).

Yes, John, you have got under the skin of a number of people, me included at times, and re Lewis we will have to agree to disagree; but - and there's always a but - and translation comes at 10p a word, payable in cash only, I'm afraid as far all the thread c+p-ing is concerned, - À vieux comptes nouvelles disputes. I reiterate, the above is solely my opinion, and offered with no disrespect to any party.

interdum stultus bene loquitor (afraid Latin is 15p a word :-D)

((You locked your back-door,John? :-D))

Besides, I'm bored and need a new adventure !!!!

:-D :-D :-D

AnnC Surely the distress and angst I have caused is not greater than ..... (he who's name I dare not utter). If so, it is so very flattering. Many thanks.

I always wanted to be a pantomine villain. Get booed by all the audience because I am so horrible to the pretty heroine. I think I know what job I will apply for once I retire in 10 months time. It was going to be Father Christmas - but I would only tell the kids to get off their iPads and Wiis and do some orienteering or mountain walking :-D :-D

Young BK could be the hero and MrD would be the Welsh Wizard ;-) Pack em in every house.

Rambling Report 9 Jan 2013 22:55

Ann, I have to disagree about John being the only one who has caused distress and dissent....compared to some of the late night abusive drunks and the frankly insane, John is as inoffensive as eggy bread.

It's possible that you have always been sensible and not stayed on late enough to encounter them though, :-D
