Selection of cold cereals

Porridge .......... bubbling on the hob.

Cold platters of various hams and cheeses.
Freshly baked hot bread rolls, croissants and danish pastries
Gluten-free rolls + crackers.
Fresh fuits, yoghurts.

Fresh 'country bread' lightly toasted and drizzled with olive oil, rubbed with garlic and tomato
Toast, crumpets, bagels, served with dairy butter, various jams, jellies, and marmite.

In the warmers:
Crispy bacon, sausages, grilled tomatoes and mushrooms, black pudding, frittata, scrambled eggs, fried bread.

Apple + cinnamon muffins, sultana scones,

Enjoy.............

Picking up on the theme of grandchildren which was the topic a couple of nights ago I thought that this, which somebody has just sent to me, might amuse some of you.

The Patient Grandfather:

A woman in a supermarket is following a grandfather and his badly behaved 3 year-old grandson.

It's obvious to her that he has his hands full with the child screaming for everything he sees on the shelves that catch his eye.

Meanwhile, Granddad is working his way around, saying in a controlled voice, "Easy, William, we won't be long . . . easy, boy."

Another outburst, and she hears the granddad calmly say, "It's okay, William, just a couple more minutes and we'll be out of here. Hang in there, boy."

At the checkout, the little terror is throwing items out of the cart and Granddad says again in a controlled voice, "William, William, relax buddy, don't get upset. We'll be home in five minutes; stay cool, William."

Very impressed, the woman goes outside where the grandfather is loading his groceries and the boy into the car.

She said to the elderly gentleman, "It's none of my business, but you were amazing in there. I don't know how you did it. That whole time, you kept your composure, and no matter how loud and disruptive he got, you just calmly kept saying things would be okay.

William is very lucky to have you as his grandpa."

"Thanks," said the grandfather, "but I'm William . .. . the little b*****d's name is Kevin."

Persie wrote somewhere on FB some time --- Dont let it slip of the page

So over night I have cut and pasted all the FB postings and comments I have made and received over the last days

and managed to save them to WP Document -----29 pages

thought this way could preserve all your comments ----for when I am even more elderly and grey er --- and to read for comfort

Make sure you print them off in LARGE print Renes as your eye sight might be failing by then :-D

Seriously though, that is a lovely thing to do - There were many thoughts on there - both yours and those of all your well-wishers !! - Sad, kind, thoughtful, loving, comforting and tearful, all at the same time - They should be treasured.

I believe the most beautiful and most poignant message on there was, in fact, your own simple statement "He suffers no more ".

Always remember that one Renes........

Renes, that's a lovely idea and I'm sure it will bring some comfort and even make you smile sometime in the future. In fact, I know you will lots of happy memories to look back on because of the great love you had for each other.

Oh the M25 Cyn I know it too well

When I lived in Sussex I used to circumnavigate it every two weeks when I visited the girls as they lived in cambridge which was 100 miles one way and 103 the other...made it more interesting.

I got a reaction from them anyway
