Hi all

we got back on the 27th, took us all day to get our "land legs" back ......... and my back was killing me!

Today (28th) was physio day, and Matt worked hard to try to get my back unknotted

Friday 29th is biopsy day

Had a long talk to the nurse on the the 27th .............. it looks as if I will be pinned in place for around 45 minutes. Quote from nurse "You are not to move. It should not hurt. If it hurts do NOT move. Just say OUCH or something"! :-0

Had a lovely time ....... 3 very different parts to the time away

Family

Conference

Train trip

One bit of rather sad news .........

One of our friends, aged about 50, at the conference was acting rather strangely ........... disoriented, forgetful, etc. It got worse as the week went on, and several of us became very concerned. BUT she is in the middle of changing jobs, and moving several hundred miles ........... so we put it down to fatigue (or possibly dehydration), or wondered whether she was taking some medication that was reacting badly..

She got home on Thursday, husband took her to hospital on Friday evening. Moved to bigger hospital within about an hour ............. operated on on Sunday for large tumour on left side of her brain.

Now we wait to see how she recovers.

Haven't had time to read back

is there anything I should know?

Did see that Dea had made breakfast ....... thank you Dea!

Please could you continue for a couple of days ............ I'm not sure what state I will be in after the biopsy.

Hi Sylvia, welcome back!

Sorry to hear about your friend, hopefully she will make a full recovery.

Fluffy monster is a bit sore and sorry for herself, have to take her back to the vets on teh weekend. Basiclaly told taht she is getting on in years and to keep her quiet and not to allow her to run or jump....She is a bit like a rabbit flies around full pelt at everything and jumps after birds etc (in vain). I'm going to take her to another one so see what they say. She is obviuosly sore as she is whimpering and lifting her leg as she hops around :.(

Hope that you managed to have a nice break away, and tomorrow works out okay for you

:-)

Persephone Report 29 Jul 2011 06:21

Oh Grace, you can see by the look of your little dog that she wouldn't want to sit still.... so so hard when they are used to being so boisterous. Both your dog and your daughter are little loves that obviously enjoy themselves.

Gins grandparenting is quite wonderful... if you look at my facebook page you can see what a mess my youngest grandchild gets into and I don't have to clean him up.

Welcome back Sylvia,

Sorry to hear about your friend - I hope she makes a good recovery!

Will be thinking of you today, I hope it is not too painful for you! - Your nurse seems to have a good sense of humour, will she be there holding your hand and saying 'Ouch!!' with you?

..........

Well, it seems you are stuck with one of my breakfasts yet again folks!

Haven't got much in but you are welcome to:

Tea, coffee, juices.

Selection of cold cereals

Porridge .......... bubbling on the hob.

Cold platters of various hams and cheeses.
Freshly baked hot bread rolls, croissants and danish pastries
Gluten-free rolls + crackers.
Fresh fuits, yoghurts.

Toast, crumpets, bagels, served with dairy butter, various jams, jellies, and marmite.

In the warmers:
Crispy bacon, sausages, grilled tomatoes and mushrooms, poached eggs, fried bread. Baked beans

Apple +walnut muffins, Iced carrot cake, Almond Tart

There isn't a great quantity of any of the above so we might run out of some things quite quickly but I am sure we can make it 'go round'.

Have a nice day everyone.

Dea x

P.S. to Grace - Hope this other Vet can offer something helpful for your little dog.

Ooooh! Our Sylvs is back......lovely to see you again. So glad you have had a good time but I guess the edge was taken off because of your friend's illness. Do hope it all works out well.

As for today......well.....lots of hands here offering to hold yours whilst you go through the 'squeeze'. Hope all goes well.

Can jax or whoever is around, take a look at this one for me please. I have been having some correspondence with this nice lady who is missing the old filter box system.
