Hi all

Welcome back Sylv hope all goes well today, Hope your friend is ok.

Got worrying letter from jobcentre today saying a compliance officer is coming round thursday...HID got one too. He was told to fill out a form for income support even though he knew he would'nt get anything. He had to say what sort of house we live in and what rooms we share (bedroom not being one of them) maybe he is coming round to check??

Ja..x

With this government I guess they will be calling on everyone to see who they can weedle out of the system

They'll not bother with the scoungers though, just the people who really need help

Ah

Jax --- you did let HID have a ride on your scooter

that might count as ------- Cohabitation

:-D

jax

jax Report 29 Jul 2011 17:39

I know Gins

I have had the worry of going to a tribunal last month to get placed in the right group so I would'nt be pestered by the jobcentre anymore.

Now this which I would think is down to HID who does not want income support but told he had to fill the form out...I would much rather him have some sort of job instead

Gins - how do you know I haven't already done that!! :-D

ja...x, I think that's what a compliance officer does....checks that you are complying with whatever benefits you receive etc.

Just watching The King's Speech on dvd....very good actually but I think the lighting in it is very dark.

I am not claiming anything that I should'nt Cyn.. I dont get any housing benefit or stuff like that...I just get ESA which is jobseekers for ill and disabled people plus DLA which is not covered by the jobcentre I would'nt think

You can not possibly share a house with a member of the opposite sex that is not related to you and NOT be cohabitating can you?Its just not done is it?
Of course you must be "living"with him,he can not be just your friend/carer....

Cretins and jobsworths...

Had one of those come round once a few years ago because I had a homeless young lad of 18 that I put up for a while and let him sign on till he got sorted and even though I was 40 something the woman spent 2 hours of our time ensuring that we were not sharing a bed as well as the kitchen and bathroom...

Oh yea ,and even eating a meal together constitutes "cohabiting".

You have to have separate cupboards for food and designated shelves in fridge and so on...
Cook your own meals Jax....You cant though can you so how do they think you get food?

Makes me see red when as Ginny says they target the people that need the help more than those that dont, but of course you are the easier sitting duck..

Cynthia

Cynthia Report 29 Jul 2011 18:08

I know you ain't ja...x and the DLA doesn't affect any other benefit so it's nothing to do with the Jobcentre.

It's Mr Cameron that's to blame.....but dont forget we are all in this together

....some more so than others me thinks Mr Cameron, multi millionaire!

I wish he had not filled this form in now. When we first started sharing a house 5 years ago it was because we were both lodging with someone we both knew from a pub I was once a manager in. He turned funny and I said to HID we can share a house together you just pay me a rent plus share the food bills and I will pay the rest.

Since we have lived here I pay for everything and he buys the food booze and fags but since he has not been working I end up having to pay once his money has run out.

I own most of the stuff in the house only stuff that is his is his bedroom stuff, garden table and chairs and half the dining table and chairs as that was a leaving pressie for the pair of us oh and his computer.

I really do not want this man coming round here to stress me out again aghhh
