Hi Everyone

Anne I think we are just a bit busy at the moment and there are a few help threads getting around now .

I am wondering if your Emma was born out of England say Scotland /Ireland have you looked into that as I can't find anything on her with that name and date of birth and there should be something in census (silly me no census before 1841 senior moment sorry);

I can't wait for the Wedding I just love them,so grand the Royals do them so well.
I would love to see William jump ahead of Charles as King he is not fits to rule and that Camilla well say no more.
May Diana's memory live on.

! Must get off my saopbox now !

Nice cool day today so I am getting out the ironing board,I have to do it sometime I suppose.

Have a nice day everyone.

I'm looking forward to the royal wedding too. My son is having a party - just an excuse to have friends round I think. We'll stay here and watch it in comfort! Our church is putting on a big 'do' at the cricket/rugby pavilion - big screens, barbeque, face painting etc.etc. should be fun for families but........I prefer the comfort of my own chair with a nice cup of coffee!!

The problem with this month is that the children only seem to be at school for about 8 days because of Easter, bank holidays and the royal wedding.

Hope you find your lost rellies Anne....at least it won't be for lack of trying!

I don't like textspeak either and can take ages texting a message out. I got most of what you said earlier. Have a nice day in the dungeons....lol

Looks a bit grey outside but I had better go and get dressed - got the mob coming for a meal tonight........arrgghhh. Can't believe that my granddaughter becomes a teenager tomorrow......where does time go? Frank and Sylvia - make the most of those gorgeous grandchildren of yours because they grow up so quickly.

Hope you are all well. Lotsa love. Cx

Lovely day down in the south - hope the birthday party goes well.

Getting off my soapbox too Sue -

I think you & I could have a disagreement over the Diana situation.

I agree Charles is too old to become King - I do think Camilla is the best thing to ever happen to Charles & he should have married her when he had the chance when he was younger.

Do not get me started on the Diana topic - totally out of bounds that topic.

Well on that note & I won't be drawn into it again i am off back to work.

Take care all

We are a bit thin on the ground on this thread at the moment.

I don't even know what time the Royal Wedding is on - on the TV over here - its being kept remarkably quiet - or i am just in Mushroom mode.

I think I saw an advert for it last night - but I do tend to fast forward them - which is why i haven't see any info.

The TV guide is due on Tuesday so I can see what is on when for the RW - i dare say there will be loads on TV or in the papers the next day.

Isn't she skinny - she was wearing Black the other day & lookd so thin - my friend wants to give her a few good thick stews & dumplings with some suet pudding for afters just to get a bit of meat on her bones. One of our bookies is taking bets on the arrival date of the royal baby & also its name -

Just had a laugh there are even odds of 250 to 1 that Kate will jilt him at the altar. the things people will bet on.

I think it starts on our TV in the early morning - It will be on in the back ground while I do the housework or work on the laptop - I know i am working on the Saturday.

Well enough wittering for now - off to have a nose around the site and see if there is anything new on the chat .

Take care all - come back soon

Funny you should say that Kate looks thin Anne, because in the paper today it said that she had had her engagement ring made smaller as she is worried about it slipping off! She could do with putting some weight on indeed. I'd said to my OH that there could possibly be a new Royal baby this time next year!

Our darling granddaughter is 13 today and we went up to see her this morning. She is so grown up and beautiful with a lovely personality. I looked back at the photos of when she was a baby and wondered where the years have gone.........again!

Tomorrow, she and her friends are going to one of those places where you sit with your feet in water and little fish nibble the dead skin off. Parties just ain't what they used to be ..... lol

It's been very grey here today with a hint of rain in the air. The weekend was so glorious that I think people thought it was summer. Some are still wandering around in flip flops and summer shorts......???/ Not me I hasten to add - just in case Frank got some weird ideas in his head!

How are things with Josie and Robert I wonder. Are you still watching from your shell Ven. Robert? If so, here's a wave for you ~~~~~~~~~

Well, I suppose I had better wash up now.......a woman's work is never done........sigh........

Love to all. Cx

Hi all
xxx

My desk top is Symantec, which is news etc ...... including "celebrity" items. A few days ago I saw a "gossip" that Kate was trying to put on weight ........... one of the things she was eating was grouse pate.

Not unusual for a bride-to-be lose weight though in the run-up to the wedding. I lost about half-a-stone before I got married ...... to the extent that my then flat-mate wouldn't let me eat chip butties after I'd bought my wedding dress at that weight!

weather was rotten today! It poured with rain, the temperature dropped, and there was even wet snow and hail.

PLUS we had thunder and lightening in the middle of the night!

Gosh! Robert - that brought you out of your shell! Do stay out for awhile now won't you. Sorry you didn't get to Bournemouth - perhaps next time. A very good reason though - I hope your halo was shining for days after.

Hello Les - no the weather is warm here in the south east (though some rain would help as March was so dry) and I hope it continues for awhile as I'm off to the south west next week to have fun with the grandaughters (and their parents!).

Just wondering whether I can walk as far as the Park (5 mins away) to see the bluebells in bloom. Am bound to shed some tears, too - the place is so full of happy memories when the bluebells are in flower of people, dogs, children.

I have just found some more relatives, too, near and far.

Friends - all best wishes and love to you all.

I agree we are all totally crackers - but we all have a good time and enjoy each others company.

I think the wording is - You don't have to be mad to work here - but it helps.

We like a good laugh and always support each other -

Please join in - we need some new blood

Cynthia & I promise not to bit too hard & Sylvia only gets the rolling pin out if people are naughty. Susan tries hard to keep us all in check.

The news is - its not working.

I dread to think where time has gone to - seems only yesterday we were at the nephews christening & he is now 14 & his little sisters are 5 & nearly 6 now - We have been together 19 years now and it only seems like yesterday.

OOps - forgot to press send nearly 2 hours ago now - old age creeping up on me - more likely too many phone calls, emails & instant messages

We have all moved over to Outlook in the office - too two hours to config the thing & more to work out what we are doing with the emails and how to delete, send find our old ones.

I will be off line for a few days - will try & look in on you all on Monday if i can - we are staying with S-in-L & she is a technophobe - no computer for 2 days aaaaaaaaaagh

Fingers crossed for lovely weather on Tuesday & Wednesday its our free hotel trip - chance to live the luxury life for a change - £6 for a glass of wine - £9.50 for 1 shot of Whisky - cheapest bottle of wine £24 (I can get 7 bottles at ASDA for this cost) £2.50 for sparkling water

Think I may have to smuggle something in with us or we will be very thirsty,

Have a good weekend

Take care all

lovely to see you. Glad you find us entertaining.

a little bit of madness does help!!

Robert ...................... so pleased that you have emerged from your shell.

The rain that was forecast for here was pushed away by a High Pressure system ............ so we have sun and warm temperatures through to at least Tuesday :))))

Going out for dinner last night ................... to our favourite but expensive restaurant. We never did celebrate the lottery win of a few weeks ago, so decided to splurge (or OH did!)

Haven't seen Josie around?

Hi Everyone

Sorry missing but went to eye specialist yesterday and could not see a thing when I got home last night so thought I would give the computer a miss .

I do have glucoma and he has given me the drops to take for the rest of my days, $40 a month and put that with my blood presure taps of $30 a month I am really looking forward to being 65 when I get them all for $5.20 a script,(boy I kiss spell check ).

In six months I see him again and we are going to talk about possibly doing my cateracks, that should inprove my sight as well , so some good news some bad I supose.

Les please feel free to join us any time you are always welcome and yes we are a little mad I suppose but lovable.

I have my dad coming today to stay for the weekend ,going to get him on Skype so he can talk to all his rellies in the Uk and Canada.
Looks like fish and chips for dinner tonight so no cooking for me thank the lord.

We are seven hours ahead of the Uk so I will be able to watch all the wedding really looking forward to it.
William was just over to OZ a few weeks ago and everyone loved him so there is a big thing about not wanting Charles as the next king, more dislike of Camilla I think, can't stand her myself.....big Diana fan me .

Well I better be off ...dad will be rolling up soon, have a lovely weekend dear friends.

Mad? Us? You must be on the wrong thread Les..........we're all totally sane....hahahahahha

oooh. Nice to see you Ven. Robert....~~~~~~~~~~

Anne, have a lovely, lovely time on your break - plenty of rest and relaxation for you my girl - you need it. No computer for 2 days? You will have withdrawal symptons within hours I guess. I never thought I would be able to play around for so long on a computer but I am completely hooked......there's always something I can be looking at.........

Hope you have a lovely time with your dad Sue and enjoy the fish and chips. I made an executive decision to have a Chinese tonight......any excuse as I hate cooking.

When my OH was 65 and got free prescriptions, he was so delighted that I had a birthday cake made for him in an oblong shape with the wording of a prescription on it and then the word Free written in red icing across it. Caused a lot of laughter............

We have a cake shop in town which makes cakes in all designs and some of them are absolutely fantastic! The imagination and skill of the cake maker is superb and some are really hilarious. When I was 50, my daughter ordered one in the shape of an orang utan - she knew I just loved those magnificent creatures, so that was funny too.

I can see our Sylvia is going mad and spending all their winnings on a meal. Well done you! Enjoy......and raise a glass to your friends on here ;)

Looks like it's going to be a beautiful day here.........must go and sort the washing.

I was wondering about Josie too.......Josie....are you there???

Mind you, Frank hasn't visited for a while - yooo hooo Frankie....put that paint brush down for a minute and come and have a chat. How much wallpaper will I need for a bedroom when there is only one and threequarters wall which need papering? The rest is fitted cupboards.

Lots of love. Cx

Hi Cynthia,

Here's a calculator for wallpaper, just paste it in ...... ;))

http://www.diy.com/diy/jsp/bq/templates/content_lookup.jsp?content=/content/knowledge/calculators/wallpaper/wallpaper.jsp

That's the bedroom finished and my knees are killing me but at least the laminate flooring is done and looking good.
It was quite easy to do once you figure out how to handle it and what you can and can't do.

We were at Ikea on Saturday getting a couple of nice easy chairs and a coffee table, rugs etc for the bedroom and even a mini easy chair for the little one.
This week's evenings will be filled fitting it all together and getting all the furniture back in.

Anne, hope you enjoy your wee break,

Off to bed.

Have a good sleep Frank....you must be worn out with all that hard work....and your age too.......shame. My son has had laminate flooring in his lounge for a while and is now thinking of carpet because it will be warmer........I'm sure I suggested that in the beginning.......sigh......

Didn't know about that sort of website .... thank you. No doubt there is one that will tell me how much I weigh without me having to stand on scales. Don't you DARE find one Frankie!!!

Sue, we had a Chinese takeaway too.........any excuse for not cooking!

Hope Anne is having a wonderful time.....c'mon...let's hear all about it.

Hello Sally and welcome - what have you been up to recently?

Josie? Please let us know that you are okay, it's been ages since we heard from you.

Reece and Evelyn, hope you are both enjoying this beautiful weather and that Evelyn has finally got rid of that nasty cough.

Just popped in for a quickie - what a wonderful day - just put the washing out.

We came back from the in-laws yesterday - had a really good weekend - lovely roast lamb dinner on Saturday night & the sun shone all weekend.

Looks like it will be lovely for the next few days - looking forward to a couple of days away - OH very aprehensive - thinks he is going to be a duck out of water - looking forward to seeing the 2 5 star hotels - one o our senior managers things Coworth Park is the best 5 star country house hotel in England.

Not sure if it was abit silly putting the washing out today as they are still knocking down the building at rh back - they are spraying water as they demolish so should keep the dust down - I have all the windows open at the moment - I can dust later.

Sorry to hear about the eyes Sue - are you going to have the treatment?

Frank what an achievement - shame we can't hae photos on here -

Cynthia - Lots of friends have had carpet put down on top of the laminate & my OH has fought me over it more than once when we could afford it. I still think its a lot easier to keep clean than carpet.

Sylvia - you must tell us all about your expensive meal out.

Reece lovely to have you back with us again.

Evelyn hows the cold? and the search

Robert are you out of your shell now basking in the sunshine - at least thats free

OH working till 7 tonight so we are going to pack tomorrow & I have taken the oppertunity for a check up with the nurse at the dr's today and a bit of birthday shopping as M in L is on the 4th May - F in L on 14th May - S in L on 19th May. Very expensive month altogether.

Well off to enjoy a bit of peace & quite with OH out - work stopped at the building site for lunch & a lovely sunny day.

Happy Easter to all in case I don't get back on the computer in time.

Take care all - will pop in Friday probably

Reece

Reece Report 18 Apr 2011 14:12

Hello all,

Anne have a lovely time - tell your OH not to worry just sitback and enjoy it all!

I'm off to Dorset for Easter and to see the dear grand daughters - trying to get the garden tidied up before I go - all looking lovely and springlike and the bluebells have been beautiful. I managed o get down to see them in the park and with patches of white wood anemones nearby. Lots of birdsong too, and saw the robin in our garden with a beak full of something for the young this morning.

My neighbours next door put in laminate flooring and their children gallop around on it like racehorses - just now they are in the garden kicking footballs, trampolining and screaming! But I guess they are having fun!

I hope to look in after the Easter holidays.

Best wishes for a very happy Easter to you all.
