Tabitha Report 19 Jul 2011 06:59

Well today its started out reasonably sunny - bit like a spring or autumn morning

It chucked it down yesterday just as i left the office & was on & off all evening - well we do need the rain

Half way through July & still only a hint of summer

My Seagull family are all flying now & don't see them as much anymore - they will have all left the nest soon - parents will probably be back next year. I will miss watching the young ones wabbling about on the roof & chasing each other. One of the parents is getting very brave (or hungry) shoved some bits out the window this morning & he/she was there before i could close it - my Oh reckons he would have taken my hand with it given a chance.

Well full day at work today & had a very bad night - so I will be yawning for most of the day & fall asleep during Holby again.

Cynthia - I think its a bug - my friend in the office thinks i am stressed internally - Well there is a lot going on & I am not one to rest - ususally if I do i come down with a worse bug.

Anyway - will try & look in - in my lunch hour

Take care all <3 <3

Ok - so I am back to talking to myself again

Found out the story of the neighbour - a couple of years ago he had a double hip replacement - well he got up to go to bed the other night & there was a crack & his hip went. so they ahd to call and ambulance (early hours of the morning) - So he had a replacement fitted to replace the replacement that failed.

Goodness only know why they left it till after 10pm to bring him home - anyway he is off work for 3 months now - he is not at all happy about it.

Well not as exciting as we thought - but never mind.

We have a team meeting today approx 2 hours long & i can see it will be a battle as well. We are all holding out for a pay increase - but doubt if we will get it.

Will pop back in again later

Take care all

Thanks for the ending Anne. I have often heard of folks being brought home from hospital at ridiculous hours of the night. I suppose it has something to do with bed space etc.etc.

I think stress has something to do with your being poorly because stress can weaken the system apparently. Please try and get some rest because we don't want you to be ill...... <3

I've heard from Sylvia who seems to be having a good time. Her internet access is limited and she is looking forward to having a relaxing journey home on the train.

Right Frank......we've had the ending of Anne's story, now we wait to hear what your wife has reported back :-D

The weather can't make it's mind up at the moment but at least I have got my washing dry!

Love to all. Cx

Sorry girls,

Nothing further on the grapevine about the jumper and the newspapers haven't mentioned it at all.
You'll just have to wait for the next round of gossip mongers to appear. :-S :-D

We had a wet morning with a dryish afternoon at 17c and of course the bus home had it's airconditioning on full blast so we were all freezing.
Last week when we managed a few days of 20c they had the heating on and these buses don't have any opening windows...... bleehh. :-S :-S

Oh dear - same story as the office - either too hot when its hot outside or too cold - poor old recirculating air does not know which way to turn

Raining again - started over night - well i am not stressed over work - must be the lack of cash causing it or Age - 2nd day when I woke up at 1am again - then only cat nap - at least i got to see Holby all the way through - be it a day later.

I watched the 1st episode of Torchwood on saturday morning - discovered its like a drug - very addictive - the more you see the more you want it to continue - can't wait for tonights episode. Its good to have something to look forward to.

I am working early on Saturday - they are still trying to get people to do OT - so may end up saying Double time - whihc I hope they do then i get double as well.

Its the office party on Friday night at the new Brighton football Stadium sponsored by our company - not my thing - which is why i got OT on saturday morning as most people with be too tiddly to come in the next day - which is why i hope they end up offering double. Can you all keep your fingers crossed for me.

Well not a lot happening in this neck of the woods

Nice to hear Sylvia is resting

Hope Recce is ok this week & over the weekend as its that time of the year

Waves & hugs to Evelyn & Robert ((((~~~~~~))))

Must dash as have to leave at 8:55 as off to Drs for a blood test & dash back - OH picking me up

Will try & pop in lunch time

Take care all <3 <3 <3

Hi Everyone

Sorry been missing but it is Tax time again here ...end of the financial year for us is 31st June.

Up to my neck in paperwork and my eyes are so sore ,I can't wait for my op on my eyes, that will happen some time after Oct.

Anne I think stress is probably your problem,it can play all sorts of tricks on the body.
Can't you and your OH get away somewhere for a nice holiday,my sister in the Uk is off today to Spain with her daughters and daughters in Law.

I can just see her letting her hair down,I hope she will be OK ,I suppose her kids will look after her.

We have just been told our Gas is going up again ,we have had massive rises in Electricity Water and now Gas.
We pay more for Gas in our country and it is our own Gas,it is sold to customers overseas for less than we Pay,how unfair is that .
All because the Goverment of the day signed a contract a long time ago to sell the Gas and the price was to cheap.
So now we pay .

Our state is supposed to be in another mining boom, don't believe a word of it .....all the money is going overseas to other counties as they were the ones that put up the money to dig for it all in the first place .

!!! Now I am stressed ,I don't think we can ever win no mater who is in Goverment at the time.

Going to watch some of the bike riding soon ..supposed to on early tonight but first I have to watch the Vicar of Dibley, they are all reruns of course but I never tire of watching them.

Going up to Perth for the weekend ,son off to Bali for a week so we will run him up to the Perth airport and see My Dad for the weekend , be back Saturday night.

Frank how is that neighbour of yours.

Well back here again - lovely sunny morning - more like spring or autumn - but at least no showers.

Hectic day yesterday - glad when it was home time.

had a blood test yesterday - lovely bruise on my arm - she couldn't find a vein willing to oblige - they all went into hiding - so she had a good poke around and slapping time to wake them up.

Still no sign of the double overtime for tomorrow - can you send out a few positive thoughts.

Have a good weekend Sue - probably missed you - as its nearly 2pm where you are.

Well hope the thread livens up a bit soon - its been very quiet on here lately

Will pop in later to see if anyone is around.

Take care all <3 <3 <3

Gosh, Anne, what an early start to your day! Take care, though.

Thanks for your kind thoughts this week - my own sadness made even more worse by the loss of my oldest friend here in the UK last Friday - suddenly and totally unexpected so a great shock to her family and her many friends.

The GRO can't find the record for my gt gt grandmother so I need to think how to go about finding out some more. A bit of a puzzle!

Evelyn, I hope she doesn't prove as elusive as Diane. Thinking of you and sending all best wishes to you and Ron.

Both sons are coming for dinner on Monday and it will give me a chance to once more do some serious cooking. Lasagne and salad followed by Summer pudding!

Waves to all~~~~~~~
Love,

Hey, it could be worse.

My daughter in Washington has been suffering temperatures in the high 90s and today is 96f - 36c
Unfortunately their air-conditioning has packed up but.......... they're off to the Dominican Republic for a couple of weeks so they can have it fixed while they are away.

Meanwhile here in sunny Scotland, it's raining again.............. :-S

Anne, you have my sympathies but only because I'm going to the nurse next week for my blood pressure and cholesterol checks which were pretty good last year so here's hoping I've been behaving myself....... :-S ;-) :-D

My veins have no hiding place, just a struggle to stop the blood flowing probably due to taking aspirin as well. :-P

Relax Anne, soar with the seagulls and let go on some people's heads... :-P ;-) ;-)

Take care all.

Sue, your eyes sound really, reallly sore. Hope you can get your op sooner rather than later. Have a good weekend.

Oh Reece, what a shock for everyone. Sudden death tends to take a bit of coming to terms with. Very sad indeed.

I had lasagne for my lunch and very nice it was too.

Went to see my friend today and sat in the sunshine whilst we chatted. It was a change for her and she really enjoyed it.

Frank...I have visions of you in a Tony Hancock sketch......with the nurse taking 'an armful'. I hope you are very brave about it all.

It was supposed to be wet today but it's been absolutely lovely!! :-S

Well here i am again & its 05:45 - very peaceful office at this time of day.

Reece - lovely to see you back here again - i am so sorry to hear about your friend. (((~~~~~~))) Hugs & waves

Frank - thank you for the advice - funny enough all i can hear apart from my typing is the seagulls & the babies calling for mum & breakfast. We are less than 5 mins from the seafront. - not that that makes a lot of difference here. At home I am 20 mins walk from the sea & we are surrounded by seagulls - but i am at the top of the biggest hill in Brighton.

Cynthia - lovely quite days sitting enjoying the sun - bliss - I can remember the tony Hancock sketch - it was very funny.

Evelyn - hope all is going well - thinking of you ((((~~~~~~~))))

Hopefully it will be very Q**** on the calls front - but I don't want to get too bored - neither do i want to be stressed out with calls either.

Not double unless i can wangle it a bit - may find a way - will check with a coupl of others when they are in.

Lovely day yesterday - warm & sunny all day - we had rain overnight but its nice that way.

Well will wonder off see whats going on & pop back during the day

Take care all <3 <3 <3

Tabitha

Tabitha Report 25 Jul 2011 07:25

Ok whats going on :-S

Cynthia & Frank I know I told you both to play nicely - but not talking

Susan was away & so is Sylvia - Reece was having visitors & doing a special meal - Evelyn was trying to sort things out at home.

My excuse was it was my day off & OH & I got sorting the family history files out & only stopped for the German GP (I fell asleep after my lunch - my excuse was it was the first time we had had a couple of glasses of wine in ages) & I enjoyed lunch as we both had steak & chips (well I had rice) - nice change for both of us.

I thought I would treat OH (& me) to a takeaway on Satuday night - as I had been working all day & we both needed cheering up - so we thought we would try this new place my office have bee raving over. Well they didn't open till 6pm - so that was a bit of a downer - took OH that long to decide he didn't really like the look of the menu as it was too hot & spicy for him - so

He went with the safe option - bacon cheesburger meal (chips coleslaw & hot sauce on the side) I went for the BBQ braised beef sandwich with hot peppers (chips slaw & hot sauce on the side) I like hot spicy things

Called them up - engaged for over 10 min got through - he said they were busy so 40-45 min deliver (OH really peeved now) then he quoted me £1 more - but never mind. 7pm came & went 20 mins later the door went - some skinny kid in a crash helmet (with a scooter) passed over this delapidated excuse for a carrier bag with stuff falling through the side & bottom (neither of us impressed - i passed him the £20 note expecting £2 back & he gave me £1 - he scarpered - I called him back - he showed me the bill & it was £19 - so it had gone up a £1 in an hour. I was not happy.

Anyway we sat down to enjoy the meal (it was virtually cold) the baps were burnt on the underside & stale on the top - morbid excuse for lettuce & a sliver of tomato with a few bits of chopped onion - chips were slimy inedible & cold - OH took two mouthfulls of his burger & started chokeing - he had bitten into a large hot pepper (not supose to be in a burger bap - so he woudln't (couldn't eat anything)

I tried mine (well ditched the bap - the meat was Cold a bit burnt but tasty so were the chilli peppers & the hot sauce was lovely so was the coleslaw.

OH still moaning & made himself cheese on toast & drank a gallon of water.

I called the establishment - asked a few questions - eg how much was out meal - £18 - so why did his charge me £19 - oops mistake with the bill - he would take it off our next order - hum -

Why did it arrive at 7:20 when he promised me 7 - well the lad left the shop at 6:45 - it took him ove 30min to do a 10 min journey - lad said he got lost - apology from owner - also asked about the carrier - lad said he dropped it while walking the street looking for the number of our house (but the scooter was parked outside) - more apologies

Asked if the food should arrive cold & were the baps always burnt - no it should be hot & they shouldn't be burnt - turns out the chef forgot them as he was busy - by that time the ower had offered to get me another meal - but it would be about an hour as they were busy - no - not required - he woudl give me a free meal with extras next time - er no don't think so.

Would I like a full refund - sounds good to me - he would get it to me by 9

9:30 came no refund - OH said told you so & went to the bathroom to get ready for bed. I went upstairs looked out the front window & saw a police car draw up outside - Interest - had a young lad with him one of the neighbours being returned home - couple of mins later some bloke on a bike arrived - got off looked at a piece of paper for an address - checked out number on the gate - did a double take at the police car & rushed up our steps & knocked the door. quite loudly. I went to answer it - he thrust £20 at me - said no need to call the police because he was late & scarpered.

End of story - well the menu for this place is now in the recycling box - I had a sort of meal for free & have gained 2 tubs of slaw & 2 cokes & some hot pepper sauce & still have my £20 - so it was a result of some kind

Well better get on with some work - hope to find someone here when I check in at lunchtime. :-P :-) ;-)

Take care all <3 <3 <3 ;-)

Hi Everyone

Got back last night from Perth (WA FRANK) we had to stay at Dads two nights,we went visiting and shopping and it got a bit late to travel on our country roads at night so we stay another night also I did not want to miss seeing Cadel Evans win the Tour De France,I really enjoyed that.

Anne what a horrid adventure with you Take away,I have had that with Kentucky Chicken ,I did get it myself but when I got home with it we were short three pieces so I rang them a complained .

They said for me to drop in the next time I am in town and they would give me a new 10 piece pack and they did ...I really enjoyed it as it was free.

Dad had a tough steak at the restaurant on Friday night and as usual he sent it back, the chef was very apologetic.
We did get a free round of drinks too.

The rain is still comimg down very hard at present and the wind is picking up too.

I am trying to do the washing but will be drying it indoors today I think.

I have nearly finished the Taxes, just a few more invoices to go in and I am done for another year.

Will drop in tonight.
Love to you all.

Dear me, what a bad time you've had with meals you two. I had a nice lasagne out last week and then a takeaway on Saturday night.

My grandchildren are away this week so I try and have an 'easy' week with as little cooking as poss. Mind you, I try and do as little cooking as poss at the best of times!!

Beautiful day here today with lots of washing and some ironing done. Daughter has stayed overnight as she was poorly yesterday with a bad migraine. She is back home tonight though.

Looking forward to tonight's episode of New Tricks. I just love that series -so true to life for those over a certain age. Frank will know what I mean. ;-)

Hope everyone is keeping well. Love. Cx.

Morning - i love New Tricks - wonder where Strickland is last 2 or is it 3 (losing it) didn't have him in - I do like him

I also like watching the repeats - have you seen Body of Proof - it started last week - i quite like it a sort of up to date Quincy but female & a bit of house thrown in as well.

I am really enjoying Cold Case - its good trying to work out who killed who.

Anyone (in the UK) watch Sugartown? Bit strange but it may work

Sue - wish our Kentucky did delivery - beats Pizza hut all the time

Well back to work - hope to pop back in lunchtime

Take care all ;-) <3 ;-)

Hi Everyone

Sorry I don't know the show New Tricks ,we don't have it here in OZ.

I do remember Quincey though that was a great show and I think led the way for the CSI shows as it is all on the same lines.
I love Criminal Minds do you have that there.

Sunny day today but lots of rain forecasts for tomorrow,I am doing my washing but drying it inside on my airing stand ,we don't let the fire go out at the moment.

Sad part about that is I have to iron it the next day or it will be hanging around the house for days......can't stand that.

We have a very good lot of take away to choose from that can be home delivered but my favorite if Chinese.
I think I could live on it .

Waiting to hear from my sister who is on holidays in Spain at the moment.
She would have had a good time that I am sure of.

Doing spaghetti bog tonight...not what you would call a culinary masterpiece.
Better get back to it before the OH gets home .

Love to everyone

Congratulations to Anne in getting a (sort of ) meal, coleslaw and coke for free and well done for complaing hard in order to get it............. the refund. :-P :-D

I have just received my refund from Virgin in the form of a cheque for £76.00 which took forty-five days from their date of cancellation (1st June) although it was cancelled 3rd March and they just carried on taking the direct debit.

No appology at all, not even a covering letter, merely a cheque from Mr Branson, oops-- sorry, make that Sir Richard :-S :-0 :-0 :-D :-D

Went to the park with our grand daughter at the weekend and I ended up sunburnt, well not too badly as it was only for two hours and it's been so long since we had sunshine.

We have now had four lovely hot sunny days in a row (Our summer !!) and suddenly the English are talking about autumn harvest........ aarrgghh. :-S :-P ............... give us a break. :-D

Hope the shell is keeping you cool, Robert. ;-)

Tabitha Report 27 Jul 2011 07:28

Robert - we are talking to each other - just not a lot these days

We all lead such busy lives at the moment - oh for a nice comfy shell for a weeks holiday away from it all.

Any one want to rent us a room cheap for a week - we don't make any noise - we can eat out - all we need is internet access - washing area - and a TV to amuse ourselves?

Not really back to depression mode - but somewhere in between

Saw last weeks torchwood this morning - what a let down - all hyped up after the first week - rareing to go & it all fizzled out - I feel very deflated this morning - got up early to watch to get all set for another boring day at the office - needed a bit of a buzz to prepare the way & it made me feel as if I wish I had stayed in bed.

Never mind New tricks was good & i have last nights Holby to look forward to tonight (fell asleep last night)

I am so glad you have had a summer Frank - Dull dingy & very humid down here - more like winter but warmer.

Sue i think we have swapped hemispheres here in the South of England

Well better see what today brings us - yestertday i tidied my desk & had a clear out - today cleaned my keyboard - tomorrow i may get to sort out one of my desk drawers (it really needs it - may find a few dinosaur bones) its quite handy being in at this time of day.

Will pop back in again at lunchtime - see if anyone else has joined us.

Take care all <3 <3 <3
