Hi Josie - lovely to hear from you and to know that you have survived the move. I hate moving and can well imagine the upheaval you have been through. Hope you get some good news on the job front soon.

Anne....all I have to say to you is......"on yer bike!" :-D :-D

Beautiful day here but have been quite busy. Managed to get some of the tennis which was v.good. I like it when someone different wins occasionally or it gets very ' same-ish'.

Love to all. Cx

My problem with weight is that I don't, and can't, walk as much as I used to. The amount I eat has not changed, nor has what I eat ................... but I just don't get the exercise

HAPPY INDEPENDENCE DAY TO ALL I love the 4th July

Morning all - notice the usual suspects are around

Lovely sunny day here in the South - very muggy/humid

Hope your shell is confortable this time of year Robert

~~~ & Hugs to Evelyn & Reece
Very quiet at the moment then Frank
Just a quick visit will pop by later to see if anyone has arrived
take care all <3
Cynthia
Cynthia Report 4 Jul 2011 09:51
Frank IS quiet isn't he? Now if we had a technical problem, he would pop right back here and have the answer for us - clever man that he is.
Robert is hopefully staying out of the sun and keeping his little shell well ventilated with cooling sea breezes.
If Evelyn and Reece are looking in, then just remember we are all thinking of you and holding you close.
I can't say I am really into Independence Day and could easily forget all about it but, I suppose being in the travel industry you soon pick up on all the festivals going on here and there.
I don't get as much exercise as I should either Sylvs. The trouble is, I am the driver for both my husband and my daughter, so I always seem to be in the car. I've never been that keen on walking - as in long walks - but I do recognise that a certain amount is good for one.
I do a lot of housework......does that count? :-D
Today we are going out. Somewhere exciting you may ask?
Nope. We're going to the council tip to get rid of a tree stump! Wow....I am overcome with .........er....well, I'm not sure what I am overcome with to be honest!
Better get myself motivated then. Love to all Cx <3
Hi Everyone
I had a message all typed and then it just disappeared,O well do it all over again I suppose.
Lovely sunny day today so I am doing all my washing ..stripping beds ect ect.
The rain has gone for a while but with that it gets very cold 3c last night and inland it was -1.5c in Collie .....did you visit that little town Sylvia ?
It is a town very much like parts of the UK I dare say many immigrants went there for that reason back in the early days of OZ.
Josie nice to hear from you again and glad you have settled into your new home ...I hate moving so I can imagine what to have been up against.
Cynthia the boys are very quiet ,Frank is probably doing more Reno work and Robert is tucked up in his cave watching the Tennis ,I for one am glad it is finished.
I have started watching the Tour De France ..quite like it for a change and few Aussies are in it this year.
Getting dinner on now check in later.
For Evelyn and Reece <3 we are all thinking of you.
Tabitha has noticed the usual "suspects" are around. Glad I'm not included.
Shell is lovely at this time of the year. Living on the Coast, I get the warmth from the sun but I can turn it round and get the sea breezes. Best of all worlds.
Not into the tennis, but could be if only Andy Murray would sort himself out and won something!
Nice to have a visit from you Robert - No picture yet i see - perhaps we should find you one
Sue busy as usual - i need to get my nets done - hope the weekend is nice i can do them then - they need the sun to whiten up a bit
Cynthia - don't know how to can not be excited about your car trip.cleaning does count so I hear.
My OH is very good witht he hoover - he cleaned the whole house for me the other day & the week or so before he did the kitchen from top to tall - including my oven.
Well i seem to be here in the office all hours at the moment - all the while they need the work - i need the extra cash - just worried if it all stops again - what will we do then. Does not bear thinking about
On that happy note - will wonder off again
take care all ;-) ;-)
Hi all
Hi all
just a quick update
Had a phone call this afternoon, and now have the appointment for my biopsy .... July 29
It's so long because we're going away this weekend, and they couldn't do it this week, so it has to wait until after we return.
They can use either ultrasound or mammogram to see where they are doing the biopsy
if the latter ....... I get to be pinned on the mammagram machine for at least 30 minutes
They do say that they will keep me as comfortable as possible :-S
I will also be "tagged" ...... they put a tiny metal chip at the site to show where tissue was taken
"they" say that the clip is made of titanium ............. and will NOT therefore set off airport alarms
I certainly hope so ............................ I can just see trying to demonstrate to the not-very-bright security staff that we have over here just WHAT is setting off the alarm :-D :-D
otherwise, another lovely sunny, warm day
Take care everyone
Watching the bike riding last night..our cadell Evans won last night very pleasing to see.
Can't wait for tonight,I can't believe how much we are into it I really enjoy it....must be that I ride a bike myself .
Sylvia I do hope you are ok and all your test are negative ,it must be a very worrying time for you and all your family.
Every other person I talk to lately are be tested for Breast Cancer.
From memory there is nothing comfortable about a Mammogram machine
Well I am off to bed ,A bit worn out today.
Hi all.
Lovely to see Robert popping in to say hello. Your little shell sounds most comfortable Robert.
Anne, your OH wouldn't like to come and clean my oven would he? I've been putting it off lately.......
Sylvia, I can't help but think of a dog tag when you say you are going to be 'tagged' - a bit like being microchipped .....You could always get your OH to carry a magnet in case you get separated :-D
Can't really get into bike races to be honest. but then, I'm not really very sporty......I can never understand how crowds of people can gather round a man playing golf............zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz
My son and his wife are celebrating their 15th wedding anniversay today and have gone on a romantic date.....watching rugby! Strike a light!
Went out to buy a new bulb for the fridge today and came home with a new red toaster and matching kettle. My kitchen is black and white and I have red 'extras'. This was in lieu of a voucher my husband was given at Easter and hadn't yet spent. My grandchildren voted my new appliances as 'cool' :-D
Love to all. Cx
Tabitha Report 8 Jul 2011 07:13
Well what a deserted little thread this is
Your kitchen sounds lovely - wish I had gone for Black & White - I had a two tone Brown Microwave & Oven - so went for Mahogany edged cupboards with cream doors with a hit of pink (very tiny pink dots all over you only see them if really up close) which look lovely - that was until I decided we needed cream tiles to go with it & contrasting pattern. OH was fine and proceeded to load the tiles - until we came to the contrasting pattern ones - I hated them - so stupid here said i like those (which were a pale Apricot with a lovely pattern) but the contrasting plain Apricot ones were awful.
Then we had the quandry - nice plain tiles horrid pattern or nice pattern horrid plain ones - or spend another month trying to find some. Which is what we should of done - but no - stupid decided against OH's advice - so I decided to get the plain cream ones & the pale apricot & mix them - OH said it wouldn't work - i disagreed - we agreed to differ after a while 7 i bought & paid for them as he refused.
I hated the tiles in the kitchen once he had put them up - he refused to pull them off the wall or paint over them - he told me you chose it - you live & work with it. So i have done & regretted my choice for many years now & we can't afford to replace them.
He has had the final decision on all the decorating from them on - he agreed i had a good eye for colour - but not for what would work in a small area & two contrasting colours which i thought matched in the shop but not in daylight.
Sylvia have a wonderful time away - put thoughts of the biopsy to the back of the mind & enjoy the train journey.
Its raining here again - it can't make up its mind - yesterday damp - sunshine - downpour - humid & lots of sun - drizzle - sun - downpour - cloudy - downpour - cloudy
I have stupidly ageed to do Sunday again as its double time - then last night they pleaded for a little help on Saturday - several of us all said no - not after last week - so just as I went home they offered double time - Stupid said ok just for a few hours - so this week i will have done 13 days by next friday - ok so 4 of them will be half days - i already feel shattered - dreading looking at my emails incase they have ageed to my half day tomorrow.
Well better look at my workload for today
Take care all <3
Hi Everyone
Yes Anne very quiet,I wonder where everyone has gone .
Oh well my news for the day ,the Granddaughters washing machine that was given to her when she moved in the the boyfriend has broken down so guess where her washing ended up too today.
I just managed to get mine dry then peg hers out ,I hope they don't make a habit of this I have enough washing of my own.
They are going to buy another one tomorrow so I think I shall be safe.
When we built this house I chose a white kitchen too ,I also had dark green bench tops to go with it I must admit it does look nice and it is still in fashion so when we sell it won't be too outdated.
I won't be redoing the kitchen before we sell.
I am looking forward to selling now even though I like my neighbours but our house is to big for us and I want a smaller one,plus I want to travel more ,come back to the Uk more often to see my reallies...I really miss my little sister after my last trip we really bonded...I feel a little lost without her we had so much fun together like when we were kids
Sylvia have a nice weekend away and clear your mind of everything but having a good time .
Anne don't work to hard it is no good for you.
Hi all
just a quick little visit, taking a rest after packing!
we're going back east to Nova Scotia......... visit with the daughter for about a week, go to a conference for about 5 or 6 days, then the train ride home
This is the height of summer tourist season ............. so not sure what to expect on the trains! Much more crowded than the winter trips, that's for sure!!
Actually, it isn't the tourists who are the problem ........ it's more the tour leaders!
We'll be back on July 27th.
take care everyone
Bon voyage sylvia - see you on the 27th
Well here I am back in the office again at 6:35 this morning - come tot he conclusion i spend more time here than i do at home at the moment.
Looks like it is going to be another lovely day - but with showers.
We had the same yesterday Showers - Sun - Cloud - & so on round & round in a circle - probably the same again today
Its so lovely & peaceful sitting here in the darkened office all on my own - except for the occasional visit by a security guard.
Need a way to cheer up the OH - he seems to be getting more & more depressed by the day - i just wish there was more work out there for him.
He is working from 9 till 2 today - so at least not too long home on his own.
At least i am not working next weekend as we are going to the out laws again - sort of break - well away from work - but not very relaxing.
Only 7 more days of work - 7hrs today - 5 tomorrow & then the normal M-F I must be absolutly raving mad - I often thought it - but now i know it.
Not quite as barmy as my friend I work with - he came in at 8;30 did his normal shift (30 min lunch) then worked through till 11pm on overtime 7 did the same the next day. One of the lads upstairs did 7am through to midnight - went home had a meal - 2 hours at the gym - then back in the office 7am till midnight again for 3 days - we all belong in the looney bin.
Well hope everyone is keeping well - Usual suspects still missing -
Waves & hugs to Reece & Evelyn ((((~~~~~~~~~~~~))))
Robert hope you are keeping well tucked up in your little shell away from the showers.
Josie - hope the job situation has improved and you are settling down in your new home.
Frank - what have you been doing this last week or so
Sue & Cynthia - don;t get too carried away in the house work.
Take care all will pop in later if i can <3 <3 <3 <3
Hi Everyone
Love the weekends especially when I am home for it,doing a bit of gardening and nothing else.
Going over to the Mother in Laws Monday as it is time to cut back the Roses again .
I always need a blood transfusion when I have finished ....Nah Only joking.
I do tend to get a few picks in the process though.
Anne you need to have a bit of time off for a rest I don't now how you manage to do all you do.
We won't be moving far from where we are as Busselton is only a small town with a few new subdivisions springing up around the outskirts,we only want a small block and a small house to retire in then we can do what we want and go where we want to.
Sylvia I hope you have a lovely time away,I used to love a train ride in the UK ..have not done it much in OZ.
Off to light the fire it is getting cold again and tonight we are only getting 2c.
Check in tonight.
Hi Everyone
Waiting for who do you think you are to come on (UK version)I don't know a lot of them but I still enjoy the show anyway.
We have an OZ version too but it does not come on very often,I also watch a show called Find my family but it is on SBS and is often in a foreign languish so even though I can't understand what they are saving it does have English sub titles,it is very sad .
OOP'S My show is starting be back later.
Don't work too hard Anne .
FRANK06 Report 10 Jul 2011 12:36
Hang in there Anne,
Although it can be difficult we just have to get on with it in the hope that we will eventually find that elusive light at the end of the tunnel.
It's a shame that it sometimes seems a very long tunnel indeed !
For twelve years I did two full time jobs. I worked 10am - 6pm, grabbed a bite to eat then two hours sleep,shower, then 10pm - 6am, breakfast, two hours sleep and on and on. My only focus on a Sunday night was Friday evening when I could go home, eat a proper meal and get a good night's sleep. My weekends were all about recharging for the new week starting Sunday nightshift which became quite robotic as I ticked the boxes........ work, eat, sleep, work, eat, sleep........ New day..... work................
You do get there as now two years on, I can look at both my daughters married off and two grand daughters and feel pleased that I was able to do what was required of me, although I do sometimes wonder how I did manage it :-S
I can recall seeing very little of my own father as a youngster since he worked in catering and was always out early in the morning, never returning until very late at night and I was always bemused at the fact that he would fall asleep in front of the TV on a Sunday afternoon on his day off.
I can understand it a lot better now. :-D
I'm on jury duty this week and it's my my third time.
My OH was on last month and wasn't called once throughout the whole week.......... witness problems and the first day the defendant didn't even turn up as they forgot to get him out of prison....What a waste of taxpayer's money.
At least they feed us well.
Spent yesterday iN bed as I have a bug of some sort doing me over so I hope it's gone by Monday as there's nothing worse than someone coughing and spluttering in a courtroom.
Can I have another Lemsip dear ............... GET IT YOURSELF. :-S ;-) :-D
BLEGGHH.
