Open backdoor at 8.45am and there is AR our friendly builder come to do some work and unloading his tools from van...

Arrrgghhhhhhh,when did you sneak in??

About 10 mins ago, didnt you hear the van?
Nope.

One dog in house and 4 in bedrooms opposite back door which I was on way to letting out and not a ruddy peep between em..!

I tell yaz we could be murdered in our beds and they would prob just be interested in clearing up behind the perp.

Thinks me must get a big Rotti or something...

Jonesey

Jonesey Report 3 Aug 2011 14:34

Don't bother with any more dogs Fan, they obviously don't work very well. Get yourself a couple of geese. Not only do they act as wonderful intruder alerts, they can also be a source of eggs for breakfast. The downside being that geese do appear to have rather unstable digestive tracts which would mean you never being able to step outside without first donning your wellies. ;-)

FannyByGaslight

FannyByGaslight Report 3 Aug 2011 15:34

I know exactly what you mean Jonesey as I used to keep geese along with ducks, chickens and Guinea Fowl...

Now guinea fowl are the ones I need here, they can keep out of the dogs teeth being very flighty and excitable and set off the alarm nicely with very loud screeches, plus they lay nice eggs and their eggs are first class for cake making...

But do you think them next door and over the road would still be talking to me for long?? :-D

Cynthia

Cynthia Report 3 Aug 2011 15:51
