Well, we thought thats why the price is so low....it must have about 12 bedrooms but only two fit to sleep in!

It's stll a fantastic buy though, if you saw the grounds, its amazing...needs about £500K to get it sorted but I am very tempted

Jax,

A tip for getting better results from your bean crop discovered by Mrs J many years ago during a hosepipe ban. Water them with used bath water. After having a bath just leave the water to go cold then use a hosepipe to syphon the water and spray it on the bean plants. As well as irrigating the plants the soap in the water also helps to get rid of any Blackfly problems.

Cornist Hall is dropping in price!

An article in Jan 2009 says it was on the market for £750,000

Apparently they then had planning permission for 19 en-suite letting bedrooms which would allow development as a private hotel as well as for dining. OR complete redevelopment might be possible, planning permission permitting.

Thanks for the tip but as I cannot water the plants myself I have to rely on HID who has no interest in gardening at all.

So next year I will not grow anything as I feel embaressed when my parents come round to see everything they have planted for me either dead or smothered in weeds.

Do you know why the bath water works? Caus it suffocates the pests, it’s the soap that does it...they can’t breath...what a sad death

....best kill them out right with a poison!

jax

jax Report 31 Jul 2011 21:54

My mum suggested nictotine water as we had a pot outside full of fag ends and rainwater at the time...but that got thrown as usual

Soap suffocates the pests.....wotever next? :-S

Anyone ever tried to give a greenfly the kiss of life then? :-D

We grow marigolds near the beans and that seems to work.

The end of another long day......night all ~~~~~~~

Hi everyone. Was at a wedding on Friday.. It was wonderful. The bride was stunning but then again she would look stunning in a baggy T shirt and a pair of scruffy jeans.

I have had my first crop of strawberries and they were the best strawberries I have ever tasted. Will never buy a strawberry again

Funny you mentioned Marigolds Cyn thats what my mum put inbetween my plants this year....marigolds did fine and obviously attracted the blackfly, she said she would'nt bother with them next year herself either

My strawberries were over and done with in may I think.

We arrived at the church via coach and was greeted by a lone Scottish piper. The bride was traditionally late. I will put photos up on Facebook later in the week because words cannot do the dress justice. Following the service, the guests took the electric tram back to Douglas and then onto a bus to the reception. A break from tradition we had the speeches before the meal which was wonderful.

We then had a Scottish pipe band followed by live music and a disco

Good morning everyone, hope you are all well.

Nice to be able to live through your travels vicariously, I have been home with my little girl who picked up a nasty ear infection Friday night and the poor thing was so sick on teh Saturday. We finally got into to see a Dr just before lunch and then we had to wait for her script. The whole time she sat with her head on my chest and whispering that she wanted to go home...

Then yesterday she is much better and a lot happier but has had a reaction to the medicine and has come out in a rash...she is already allergic to Penacillin now it looks like this one is no good either..

So we have had a very quiet weekend just lying on the couch and watching tv and dvd's.

Lovely breakfast Sylvia! Do you get your results soon?
