Gwyn in Kent

Gwyn in Kent Report 16 Aug 2019 06:55

This was a much more refined kangaroo.

Just like rood screens, it was finely patterned, but goodness knows where it had acquired such a detailing of it's fur.

Not only that, but in it's pouch was the most amazing sight............

... a lovely bunch of coconuts.
Allan had sent these on ahead as he had become quite partial to them. But will they go off before he gets home as he still has a lot of travels to go.

Allan

Allan Report 16 Aug 2019 22:02

Not wishing to appear rood, Allan had sent the dusky maidens to tend their coconuts so as to ensure that they remained as fresh as the day they came from the trees.

This did not go down well with his OH who suspected that there may have been an ulterior motive in having said maidens look after his coconut collection.

Another deep domestic discussion ensued!

nameslessone Report 23 Aug 2019 16:22

After a week this was still ensuing as Allan had eaten all his coconuts and had taken to chewing the camal bag.
His O H was looking well, probably because she had kept the contents of her capacious bag for herself.
Allan was not happy..........

Caroline

Caroline Report 23 Aug 2019 19:32

Mainly because OH had done something to the dusky maidens he hadn't seen them for days. Thinking about it he realized the rather copious bag was looking fuller than usual.....determined to take a peek inside he waited until OH was snoring away and took a look inside......OH NO....what could this be.......

Allan

Allan Report 23 Aug 2019 21:50

Certainly not the maidens.

After all, this was OH's bag not Rincewind's Luggage.

nameslessone

nameslessone Report 24 Aug 2019 18:02

Which was lucky as neither Allan nor his OH would want to attract the killers that were chasing Rincewind.

Now, there were a lot of characters that keep popping up in this travel saga - could it be one of them?

Allan

Allan Report 24 Aug 2019 23:31

There are more characters than names in a London Telephone Directory, or even written on cards left in the old style telephone boxes.

Caroline

Caroline Report 25 Aug 2019 18:12

It was Rick O'Shea of course he's not been seen for a while and this explains it all OH was keeping him safely in her copious bag......

Gwyn in Kent

Gwyn in Kent Report 25 Aug 2019 18:49

Quite what O H wanted to hide Rick for we can only guess, but here he was, back to bother Allan once more, unless there was something else in the bag with which to distract him....

Allan

Allan Report 25 Aug 2019 21:57

There were always the frisky, dusky maidens with their coconuts with which to distract Rick.

By now Allan was even more impressed with the sheer strength of his OH.

Any normal woman would have required a crane to carry around that mysterious, magical bag.

Caroline

Caroline Report 25 Aug 2019 22:04

Oh Allan really?? Everyone knows all OH have bags like the tardis....they hold more than you expect and as for weight well they're used to carrying their entire families at times :-D

Dear old Rick had grown bored with the dusky maidens who it seems didn't travel well, no he only had eyes for...

Allan

Allan Report 25 Aug 2019 22:07

The Bosun's mate, who had also made a surprise appearance in this tangled web being woven.

nameslessone Report 28 Aug 2019 15:58

Doesn’t he look cute in his Shirley Temple outfit - all he needs now is a lollipop.

Allan

Allan Report 28 Aug 2019 21:43

At least the Shirley Temple outfit was better than the Ballerina's clothes he was going to wear; that would have been tutu much

nameslessone

nameslessone Report 30 Aug 2019 13:24

As Allan hadn’t been anywhere near a launderette it was fortunate that there was a spare outfit. ;-)

Allan

Allan Report 30 Aug 2019 22:07

Allan had never needed a laundrette as he had adopted the quaint Australian custom of having a shower whilst wearing his clothes, thus being able to kill two birds with one stone, as it were.

However, he did find the idea of the tutu rather exciting.

He decided to write some notes using his Fonteyn pen.

nameslessone

nameslessone Report 31 Aug 2019 10:18

It had been so long since Allan had used his Fonteyn pen that the ink had dried up.

So all Allan had to now was catch a squid............

Gwyn in Kent

Gwyn in Kent Report 31 Aug 2019 10:27

...or even an octopus.

Now what to use for bait or do you just tickle them like trout?

Allan

Allan Report 31 Aug 2019 10:44

The problem was solved when Allan saw a squid moving very slowly in circles and hardly moving its tentacles.

It was obviously extremely ill and Allan had no problem catching it.

Taking it to his wife he said, "here's that sick squid I owe you".

Allan always repaid his debts!
