Allan was beginning to feel peckish and wondered if there were any munchkins lurking in the Wicked Witch of the West's, sorry, his wife's seemingly bottomless bag.

OK, so the bag wasn't REALLY bottomless as otherwise all the contents would have fallen out by now, but you know what I mean.

A scrap of this and a scrap of that. You could cal it Tapas ;-)

Was that a hot tapas, or a cold tapas? It really didn't matter as Allan had found the kitchen sink

Is lugging the kitchen sink around holing allan back?

Not if it was a Butler one, as everyone knows Butlers can be useful in many ways :-)

But what use food if Allan wasn't having fun?

Allan decided to follow the yellow sick toad

Unfortunately, it had just croaked.

(So now we've reached the end of the toad ;-))

Allan breathed life back into the toad, taking full care not to kiss it, should it turn into a handsome prince. 'Too much competition!' thought Allan.

The toad hopped along merrily, and Allan and OH followed it.

In the distance there was a distinct tinge of green in the sky....

Oh no. Thought Allan’s OH. A tinge of green brings back some unhappy memories.

'Nonsense, don't you know that we are all friends of Dorothy, Toto, and the other motley crew, they will not let us down' said Allan. 'We will get to the Emerald City, and that doddery old bloke behind the screen will get us home.'

OH was not convinced, but anything for a quiet life!

And with a hop, skip and jump, they went along a long and winding road.....

They nearly trod on a couple of beetles who could just be faintly heard singing:

Beatles - an infestation

"Allan singing along with the two beetles as he had was hardly anything for a quiet life now is it?" thought OH.

So OH did tread on the beetles and for good measure kicked Toto.

Well what was Allan to do now.....

Allan wondered if he should call himself John Coffey, as he had brought the toad back to life, and we obviously had healing powers for the beetles and poor old Toto.

But that would be the Green Mile and not the Yellow Brick Road, so onwards.....

Onwards they trudged and got nearer and nearer to the Emerald City, where they hoped to meet the Wizard....

.. hoping it was the Wonderful wizard......

The Land Down Under.

Allan looked at OH...nope she's not glowing it can't be The Land down under......

Where women glow and men chunder.

Rather lyrical, thought Allan, although in this case the roles were reversed.

In his wife's case, one bad oyster had spoilt the whole buffet

Searching deep again into OH's bag, he found some of that pink stuff that settles gippy tums.

Allan, OH, one limping dog, two beetles and assorted munchins entered the Castle.
Up the long staircase until they found one little old man sitting on his throne....

Who was he?
.....Did Alan recognise him?...

Should Allan recognise him .....or was he perhaps someone getting into character in his costume for World Book Day tomorrow?
