Hello everyone,

That all sounds very exciting - food sounds lovely - shall I add some strawberries and cream and some meringues to crush up and mix with them. Here it is called "Eton Mess"!!!

So hot today - oh thunderstorms, Anne, not more of them. Susan, promise, please, that it won't rain on Saturday.

Will bring a couple of big baskets of flowers for decoration, too. Lots of pretty coloured and floral paper napkins to wipe our fingers on! Anything else?

Will work out what to wear tomorrow - too tired just now.

Lots of love,

Reece <3 <3 <3 <3 <3 <3 <3 <3 <3 <3

Good day to all my friends,
Sadly I will not be able to attend the party on Saturday as I will not be on line I will send lots of good Guernsey cream and some lovely tomatoes and butter and some super Guernsey cheese for you all, I hope you all have a wonderful time.
I shall be in Beaconsfield with family, I have a friend house sitting for me.
Love to you all

What a shame Evelyn....... :-( :-( :-(

Never mind, we will hold the party in your honour and you can read all about it when you get back.... :-D :-D

Reece, that sounds lovely - meringues are one of my favourites. I'm glad you're doing some flowers because I can't arrange a daffodil in a milk bottle!!

The new recliner and bed arrived yesterday. The bedroom looks lovely - even if I say so myself ;-)

Trouble is, OH was too tired to experiment with the bed controls last night so ended up sleeping comfortably in his original recliner which is in the bedroom!! sheeeesh.

Must go - taking my daughter and my friend out this afternoon. <3

I think we need to put the steaks on now ,Its Anne's favorite,i will; get out the salads .

No rain everyone so thats a good ,quite sunny today.

Just going to change the music...how about some Beatles.

:-D :-D :-D

Reece

Reece Report 28 Jul 2012 15:01

Hello, Hello...

Lovely to see you all - yes, it is cold, but the fire is lovely Sue and enjoying such good company and food and music. Love your red wine - well chosen and love Sally's salmon and will just try a little steak thank you Sue. All goes well with Anne's lovely salads.

Beatles are fine by me. Would you like to hear this one I brought along specially by The Kinks (who remembers them?) called Thank you for the Days - says it all really. I may weep a little, though. Tell me what you think?

Seems the wrong way round with the weather - cold down here when it has been so hot this last week in the UK and not many miles from the Stratford Olympic site. Lots of helicopters flying around for a day or two so I hitched a ride out to the airport and that gave me a good start. Just as well my passport was still up to date wasn't it? All very, very busy but most coming into the UK and not the other way 'round!

We're all thinking of you Evelyn and wishing you a happy birthday and so pleased to know you are with your family on your special day.

Arthur, what awful news about your verge - dear oh dear! Please don't overdo do it though - sounds pretty backbreaking to me but I can scarcely lift a garden fork these days! A trowel yes! So I would offer to come and help but would only get in the way of the real "workmen"...

Susan Report 28 Jul 2012 15:31

Welcome Sally

Pull up a chair and get stuck in to the Salmon, there is plenty to eat.

Anyone for a Lamington ?

I have some fresh cream to go on top,I can see my diet is going out the window tonight :-D

Reece

Reece Report 28 Jul 2012 16:05

Sue,

A Lamington would be lovely - must leave some for Evelyn though and I haven't much room left after that delicious food - fortunately the strawberries have improved since the rain stopped and the hot sun appeared.

What does you brother have on the farm - animals, fruit trees, vegetables, flowers?

Does anyone search on Trove newspapers - found lots of pieces about my ancestors - one had won prizes for his oranges, lemons and "shaddocks" (grapefruit apparently! When he died his obituary mentioned his famous orchard.

Would love to talk to you about the opening ceremony, Cynthia - I'm sure some of our ancestors were pictured there in those wonderful opening scenes - several people I know had younger relatives taking part - they were so excited.

Ooh ahh nearly bedtime, Sue, it has been really lovely.

Our warmest thanks for hosting us and giving us such wonderful hospitality.

Time for the washing up Robert, or stacking them in the dishwasher! Where are you hiding?

See you all soon.
