Take some 'you' time LG, especially if things have been getting on top of you outside the home The dirt will still be there tomorrow.

What type of biccies will Maz conjure up for this afternoon, I wonder??

Must look at the link from Aunty, then get on with the day. Catch you all later.

Hi all, just having a look at the thread before I go out for the day.

I was looking at the cookie thread and the different weights in different countries are a bit confusing. Haven't had a go at any of them yet but I will. My mam was a great baker, her cakes, stotties and pies were to die for, but I never saw her weigh or measure anything. She just knew how much to put in without the aid of scales. I need scales!

YG Report 11 Mar 2010 17:18

Lurv flapjacks, especially if they are made with butter lol!!!! Oooh what a mess they make. You will be in big trouble again Maz!!

Please save me some for later.

Just going off to the vets with Duffy and hoping and praying that she comes back with me.

LaGooner Report 11 Mar 2010 20:22

Maz, you've left crumbs on my throne again they are all stuck to my rear LOL.

Oh YG any news on poor Duffy, I didn't realise she was ill.

YG

YG Report 11 Mar 2010 20:24

Evening LG.

The vet's has taken bloods for full testing. Duffy has turned out to be a male!! His lymph glands are swollen, he also has infection in his mouth, but until the results come back, the vet is not sure whether it could be thyroid or cancer. She can feel a mass in his stomach, but could be hard faeces.

it cost me £167 and I'm gutted.

Sorry to hear this YG. Although I'm not a pet lover, its sad when a much loved one is ill.

Is this site on a go slow again?? It is taking ages to load. Might give up for a couple of hours. And no, BM is not 'streaming' things

Oh that is very stylish DET. I must say I do like the little lime green and blue tufts out over the ears. The shaven area at the back with the tattoo is very modern. I've just settled for stripes, I need to be a tad more adventurous.

Sympathize with you re the vet costs for kitty kat YG. You are damned if you don't and broke when you do. My OH is very against running to the vet at the first sign of illness. He said they charge like wounded bulls. We have a good dog health book. But home medication is a real problem when they can't tell you where it hurts.

I started work really early this morning so I could finish some tasks before the mob arrived. I'm now having a break. Of course you lot are snoring. Off to see who has been jelly wrestling whom.

AuntySherlock Report 12 Mar 2010 06:18

Morning Maz. Is your special day for mothers called Mother's Day or Mothering Sunday. Ours is on the second Sunday in May and I did know that the UK version was earlier in the year.

Say happy birthday to the frog from us. How on earth did you manage to wrap yourself in birthday paper. Just you wait till you need to, you know, and as for eating you are going to be in strife. I'd have left the wrapping up till the last moment.

+++DetEcTive+++

+++DetEcTive+++ Report 12 Mar 2010 09:36

Lol @ Aunty! Glad you like the hair do (I've had a colour wash put in) Turned out more auburn/red than I'd have liked, particularly as I was wearing a cerise coloured jumper at the time. It clashed 'orribly lol But at least it will fade/wash out over time.

Mothering Sunday is the 4th Sunday in Lent; 4 weeks before Easter. It has been commersialised terribly and now refered to as Mother's Day. When we were Church goers, the children used to be given tiny bunches of flowers, to give to their mothers, during the morning service, and I used to make a Simnel cake (no chocolate involved) for tea.

Our resident offspring have decided I'm probably fed up with flowers and chocolates and have book the 4 of us in for an evening meal at the local Italian.

Hope Maz and Frog have a good day on Sunday - a double celebration!!!

AuntySherlock Report 12 Mar 2010 10:44

Over commercialization has spoilt so many happy events. Now everything has to be bigger, more expensive, and more necessary to improve one's lifestyle. I am just happy with a phone call from the offspring on Mother's Day. Rather not have the gifts when I know they are struggling to make ends meet.
