Hello everyone, hope you had a nice weekend! I had a bit of an upside down one...you know where all it feels like is you argue with your partner and it is just yuck.

Sighhhhhhhhhhhhh oh well, another week ahead, I love the music you guys are chatting about

jax Report 25 Jul 2011 00:24

Not had a partner for a long while Grace so its quite nice not having arguements hope all is well now.

I put a couple of my favourites on my wall on FB...not that well known ones I dont think? The only person I know of who had heard of Different Drum apart from my mum who had the single was an American friend of mine.
I went to a kareoke some years ago and found it on the list so got up and sung it...the DJ bloke had never heard of it either so it did'nt matter if I sang it well or not. they did'nt anything to compare it with :-D

That is not good Gracie...

It has been very strange around here and there lately... Even the weather is confused here... warm and sunny Saturday and a cold and miserable Sunday and today the sun is out but it overcast as well and every so often the dark clouds loom overhead.

How is your little poppet... is she going to go to dancing?

I really envy Sylvs having a train trip back home.

My daughter used to sing Paper Moon at Karaoke .. she even won a prize somewhere for doing it. Both my daughter's can sing and my grandies but me ... it just comes out all wrong.. I know the tune.. but it doesn't come out like that. Apparently sometimes I get it right as OH will comment but most times I get told to be quiet. I used to mouth the words for the hymns at assembly at school and one day I hadn't bothered and the Head Mistress on her podium spotted me in the hall of 1100 girls and I had to go to detention.

Hi Persie,

No her dad won't let her at the moment. he thinks she does enough going to childcare :-P

Well I have no talent in singing nor dancing and am usually a quiet person, not madam though, she is the first one up and centre and uses her loud voice and happily talks or sings away! Nothing she about her..I don't know she must be a throw back all of my family are not like that, and I can't find anyone who was on the stage!!!!

I asked her last night why she had a baby sock on her hand and she said she had a sore wrist. On asking here where her wrist was she puts her hand on my wrist and sighs and says Wrist mummy...lol I felt about 2 years old! :-D

Dont you just love kids when they are that age :-D

Just found loads of proper karaoke songs that I like no one else singing just a backing track. Billy Fury tracks I think I did ok with,Unchained Melody...I gave up with, Frank Sinatras My Way I was doing ok but HID has gone to bed so I cant sing loud :-( Just have to wait for him to go out so I can have a proper sing song.

I did the same as you Persie I mimed in assemblys and first time I sang in public and was told it was good was NYE 1999 at my own karaoke in my pub...they had to say that otherwise I would have barred them :-D

Well breakfast ha ha...

Let's see I can do sauteed (pretend there is an acute over one of the e s it won't do it at the moment) potatoes, omelettes with either chives, green beans and cream cheese in them or omelettes with mushrooms in them... bit of the old garlic is in the mushrooms..

For the animal munchers, there is sausages, chops, kidneys and bacon or gammon.

The porridge went lumpy so not even the bears would eat it... in fact I am sure I saw a pig playing with it thinking it was a rubber ball... ho hum.

So cereals are cornflakes, weet bix, muesli, or rice bubbles.. Cream or milk.
Have stewed rhubarb, or nectarines or there are tamarillos which have been marinating overnight in golden syrup.... hmm.

Vavious breads for toast - sour dough, potato bread, rye, gluten free and tomato and basil. Crumpets and bagels and muffins are all keeping warm.

Also raspberry and white chocolate muffins, humming bird muffins (these have banana in them and are iced). Blueberry and cream cheese muffins.

The pastries are Apricot Danishes, chocolat au pains, and spinach and feta strudels.

Juices... cranberry, tomato, orange and pineapple.

Coffee in the plunger, tea bags in the jar, milo in the other jar and chocolate in the tin.... marshmallows or a NZ favourite pineapple lumps in the little basket. Whipped cream, trim or ordinary milk.

Spreads = cottage cheese, peanut butter, marmite, clover honey, damson jam and strawberry conserve.

Persie ... that should keep them quiet whilst I go and see to our dinner.

Ohhh - thank you Persie.............

I shall have a mushroom omelette with sausages, gammon and sauteed potatoes please, with a nice hot cup of tea.

Then, I cant resist a couple of those apricot danishes - they look delicious.

I had the the most odd dream last night...it was about you lot

We all met up except AM, she turned up in the middle of the night and we woke to find her on the sofa

It was Fannys gaff we were at and it was a dumpy old B&B, the loos were not working and we were all going to the sarni shop next door for a piddle!

Think I need to stop eating cheese before bed

I am so glad I am down a bit later today. Thanks Persie, not sure where to start.

Everywhich way I move, Dea is right in front of me!!

Hello Grace, hope everything 'unyuks' itself soon. We all have times like that - even after 43 years!

Daughter has stayed overnight but hasn't surfaced yet - will have to wait for the next thrilling instalment.

I like the 60's songs but am not a great listener to music. I much prefer 'talking' voices and have a good collection of audio tapes with murders and mysteries on them!

Oh well, had better make a move.....~~~~

Persephone

Persephone Report 25 Jul 2011 17:58

was that Cyns banging into an inanimate object?

Do all sarnie shops have loos? The don't here. Tho I was in the public loos at the CBD library and here was this girl standing by the handbasin looking in the mirror eating her sandwiches . I commented that it was not that hygenic to be eating in there (especially after seeing on a consumer program just how clean one's bag etc are after being in there). She just looked at me and as I went out the door I heard the remarks effing bitch.
I guess I won a friend for life there!!

Cynthia

Cynthia Report 25 Jul 2011 18:15

I didn't bump into Fans did I Persie?

Public loos drive me bonkers at times and I use them as little as poss. The number of women who don't wash their hands is scary and yet there they are, checking what they look like, tidying their hair etc.etc. I never put my bag on the floor and you can, in fact, buy a bag-hanging hook for those situations - I've seen them in garden centres of all places!

Shudders.....s.s.....s.s.s...

Where's our Dea got to today? Helloooooooo

Oh Persie.....the wall thing? Shirley Valentine.
