GranOfOzRubySlippers Report 13 Jul 2009 13:08

Hi Deanna, I also get that way with Fiddler on the Roof, do not know why either.

Will not know how daughter is until tests are done and the results are back, she is very weak and wants to sleep all the time, with her blood count so low I can understand.

One good thing about Australia, we have fly screens on our doors aka security screens, so can still let the breeze in and feel safe. I do not lock the back one but do the front one when the other door is open. Somehow the flies still manage to get inside in summer. On a nice winter day I have the doors open as love the fresh air flowing through.

I have spares of everything, then again it is not a quick trip to do a major shop. I have about 10 bags of frozen peas if anyone wants a bag or two. Anyone with a black eye or a sprained ankle?

Gail,I will be very pleased if you can knit again.

I do a lot of things now with just my left hand purely to see if it is possible for the old man.

We had some Bramleys a couple of weeks back that needed peeling so I loaded them on to him.

He sat looking at them for ages and then told me he didn't know if he could peel them.Well,as I explained,I didn't know either and neither of us would until he tried.

AnninGlos

AnninGlos Report 13 Jul 2009 13:56

My favourite cooking apples are called Granny Smiths. Lovely.

I peel my apples and potatoes by placing then in the plug hole in the sink and use a peeler, or use my spiked board, pain in the rear end, so am going to get an apple/potato peeler. More time to practice knitting.

Hello everyone.

Still not posting regularly.Ann, it IS rather difficult to 'come back" when you haven't been on for quite some time, especially when you can't say anything cheerful.

Having said that, the post brought a gift from Claire, which really gave me a boost, so kind and thoughful of her, so thank you Claire.Have stuck the Claddagh magnet on the fridge.

I do think of all of you who are having a bad time of it, even though I don't post....must rally make an effort to try shake off this awful feeling of dread and panic .

Have been referred to a dermatologist for the hair loss. What on EARTH does such a specialiast have to do with (maybe) a hormone prob? Two daughters think it is to do with the thyroid and/or the meds. not properly sorted yet. Will maybe hear more on the 21st.

Take care and be happy.

Love. Eileen

good idea Gail
Claddagh, we like to 'see' you even if you are not bubbling with joy. please come on, you especially need our support when you are down. I believe hair loss can be caused by stress and/or depression as well as hormones, but your daughter may be right and it is the thyroid. a dermatologist will have some idea and will be able to advise you. I hope so anyway.

CAROLE..... what do you mean my jokes get worse???
My jokes are GREAT!.... now... laugh when you are told to girl.

I only came on to tell you all that i am NOT COMING ON TODAY.... tee hee
I have a really painful shoulder today, all night too, and I think it may be because of the typing. So I decided to take a day off.
THEN, I come on the boards and don't want to leave!

I must though, so see you all later.
Lots of love,
Deanna XXXX

AnninGlos

AnninGlos Report 14 Jul 2009 15:29

Deanna, hope the shoulder gets better soon. You could be right about the typing. Is your computer at the right position for you to type comfortably?
On the other hand maybe you slept awkwardly.
Take it easy for a couple of days, read only and don't type and hopefully it will get better.
