No it wasn't a typo DET. It is going to start cooling off later next week and just gets colder! I heard it on the tv too, but I'm still sitting here with everything crossed! Oh well, I guess I will be stripping wallpaper instead of being out in the garden. Luverly!!

+++DetEcTive+++ Report 20 May 2010 21:30

Oh dear! Haven't seen the TV weather recently, but found this on the Met Office site.

UK Outlook for Tuesday 25 May 2010 to Thursday 3 Jun 2010:

Northeastern parts of the UK will be unsettled and windy with rain at times. Temperatures will be mostly below normal with a risk of overnight frost. Some wintry showers are likely on the Scottish Mountains.
For the rest of the UK it should be mostly dry with some sunshine and just a few light showers. Chilly overnight but temperatures near normal during the day. From next Friday (28th) and over the weekend many places will be rather cool with a mixture of sunshine and showers. the showers will be more frequent in the north and east with the driest weather in the south and west. Risk of overnight frost in sheltered spots.
From Sunday (30th) until June 3rd southern parts of Britain stay dry and warm with showers further north.

Oh shuddup you lot about your sunny days and blue skies. Good to hear you will also have the 4 degrees. Oh well it's only for about four months over here then it starts getting warmer again.

OH is OK but I think it gave him a bit of a scare. He did mention waiting till I was home before roof trekking again. Oh yeah, and I am going to catch him as he rolls off the roof.

According to him what understands this money conversion tee hee your pound is now worth about $1.76 of our dollar. Our dollar is about .84c at the moment. Now is the time for you lot to visit Australia because you get more Aust dollars for your pound.

AuntySherlock

AuntySherlock Report 20 May 2010 22:05

Oh you lot will love retail therapy in Oz. We have friends who used to come out here every few years. The lady loved the prices of our unmentionables and other clothing items. They always took home more than what they came with.

Our food costs are easier than those in UK as well. Don't know how your food import regulations are. Ours are really strict so it's a waste of time stocking up on exotic yummies while overseas because they confiscate them when you arrive home.

I'm off to cut my lunch and get ready for work. Catch you all later. Have a lovely warm day all of you. Lucky ducks.

Lammingtons????

Beta Male works in the Currency Markets. He was trying to explain why Aunty's certs were costing more. Something about a stronger AUD v a weak GBP and the money markets wanting to buy more AUD than GBP, so the value of the AUD has gone up due to the demand. Got that bit, but still can't understand why the Certs cost more..........someone must be making a killing in the exchange rates - unless you forgot to factor in the recent cert price increase?
