OH DEAR!

Have we come to the end of this thread? It looks like it to me, which is a little sad, well to be honest very sad.

I have learnt a lot from here, discussed many things with people with different views and enjoyed every minute.

I will say a little prayer that we do continue but if this is the end "thank you everyone for being with me for so long,

Bridget :-( :-D <3 <3

Stay with it Bridget and be patient. And see my reply to you on my Has the heart gone out thread.

We don't see Jan on here much now, but I know she is ok as she is on the Greaders threads.

I had a lovely weekend at our daughters, for once lately it was sunny and fairly warm. We didn't do a lot but two of the grandsons came to see us plus the wife of one, the one who is expecting our first Great grandchild in June. It was lovely to see them all.

so, back to normal now, I have just heard that the residential home that sells my cards for their charity has sold out so must set about making some more.

I wonder where Bridget is, maybe she has given up posting as he didn't come back to my 'has the heart gone out of the boards?' thread.

Hello everyone, I am still alive and in good health. Thank you to those who made me feel so much better in the last few entries,
I must find Ann's board,!!

The sun is shining today so perhaps I will also feel happier.

I will be back tomorrow.

You wanted suggestions for a new name for the thread Bridget. If you rename it you could PM the people usually on it to inform them of the name change.

1.The daily diary of an ex pat in Spain friends welcome.

2.Chat with ex pats and friends (BB's daily diary)

3. Have you left your home to live elsewhere? Join us.

I am sure others can come up with suggestions

Today has been a beautiful day weather wise and my dogs, two german spitz and a cocker, have been enjoying the freedom of the garden.

I have been working hard in the garden to make it more dog friendly. Up came all the shrubs and plants and down will go turf. The garden is to be filled with agility equipment which hopefully will help us to win a few ribbons and trophies.

We have to go training tonight. It is the cockers first day at club class and we are looking forward to it :-D

This weekend we have two agility competitions so I haven't had much time to come on the boards, but after seeing this thread I thought I would add to it :-D

Edit

Me and me little friend Daff used to have a Waffle thread where we just waffled on about all and sundry......Sigh! :-(

AnninGlos

AnninGlos Report 9 Apr 2013 20:41

*sighs as well. I know Susan and it is so nice to see your waffle on here :-D

Lucky you having the sun today, it didn't show its face here.

Can't imagine digging up all our plants and flowers but it is amazing what we will do for our hobbies. What do your neighbours think about it?

Berona

Berona Report 10 Apr 2013 00:26

Nice to see you here, "waffling on". I like to waffle on too. My problem is not knowing when to stop!
No need for a private message. I had this thread in my "watched threads" list and it was there under the new name when I checked in this morning.

Still getting lovely days with temps higher than normal for Autumn. Mornings and evenings are getting nippy, but mid-day temps are up around 24. I suppose winter will hit us suddenly, but I can wait!

Susan10146857 Report 10 Apr 2013 00:39

I don't know Ann, I can't see them and don't speak to them. We don't make a noise so there is nothing for them to comment on. We are walled all around.

One thing upset me today though. I had a large stone fountain with a cherub on it. I told Oh that I wanted it moved to another part of the garden. The ejit didn't bother asking me to help him and while trying to move it it smashed into smithereens.....well.....bits anyway.

Yes, I remember writing on the waffle thread early hours of the morning about the most stupid of things...sometimes others were awake and came on there but mostly it didn't get answered til the following day....It was as if we were all talking to ourselves....great fun :-D

Club Class tonight was great. my dog did well and we helped win at an agility race. Roll on tomorrow night when there will be double agility.....why didn't I start this when I was younger?

AnninGlos

AnninGlos Report 10 Apr 2013 10:28

Berona, I could manage with 24, it is about 6 degrees here at 10.20 this morning so I'll swap you. Pretty please!

susan, Aaw what a shame about your stone fountain, they are sooo expensive too.

Well done with the agility, not sure what that consists of, is it the one where the dogs go over 'hurdles' and down or across boards etc. Which of your dogs helped to win? I am sure that it keeps you fit as well as the dogs.

Lucky then to have a walled garden.

Just off to the local garden centre to get some basket compost (cold or not the baskets will be made up soon as we have to have them ready before we go to tenerife end of April). Shall have a coffee as well. :-)

It was the youngest who is a year old and it was her first night at Club Class.

AnninGlos

AnninGlos Report 10 Apr 2013 20:33

Aaw bless, well done her, looks like she will be a good one then. Did the other dogs not bother her?

Susan10146857

Susan10146857 Report 10 Apr 2013 23:03

she was very excited at first but before the class starts all the dogs go into a paddock where they are sent to play then called back by their owners and told to heal then sit......then after a short time they are told to go play again.....They get to know each other this way.....We even have a rottie in the class who is sooooo sweet......She settled down when we went inside to do more training then the agility. she was as good as gold :-D

Today was spent clearing rubbish from the garden, also unwanted items from the house and taking them to the local tip......If anyone wants books, just look at your local tip...ours had hundreds of them and the ones I saw were very recent. They sell many other items too, but I was there to get rid of not bring more home :-D

I do hope the weather tomorrow is as nice as the last two days, the sun has cheered me up no end because I have been able to get much needed work done.

Berona Report 11 Apr 2013 00:09

Ann - I wish I could share the temperature with you. I'm not complaining about it at all - I love it when the days a like they are at the moment.
However, April is unpredictable here. I was married in late April, 1957. It was a beautiful day with temp of what we now know as approx. 27c. . Each year, on my anniversary, I particularly notice the weather and I think I have seen every type of weather imagineable for this part of the world on those days! From 'hottest April day ever' to 'coldest April day ever' - torrential rain, drought, glorious sunshine, sleet, hail, and violent winds - to name a few.

AnninGlos

AnninGlos Report 12 Apr 2013 17:29

susan, she sounds a lovely temperment. What a good idea to get the dogs to play together first though. Do none of them 'fight'? I assume theya re all well trained dogs though so probably not.
I don't think they sell books at our tip. I would never think of taking books to the tip, any I don't want go to charity. We have been lucky with getting rid of things lately as a local residential home is having its annueal fete in June. OH knows a trustee and he is collecting anything we want to get rid of that is saleable.

Berona, hope your nice weather is holding up.
I wonder where all the others are? Maybe they have not realised that the title of the thread has changed. :-)

Hi everyone, nice to know I have been missed !! My OH and I have been extremely busy in the garden, believe it or not, new paths, new paths, new gates, to name but few projects !!!!!1 I have also been doing my artist bit at home, unheard of as far as I am ...I usually only paint when I go to my class on a Wednesday, but I have changed mediums from watercolour to acrylic and impressionism and I am loving it. First project new pictures for our bedroom. I have also been writing poetry, delving into the archives for details of the memorials at church, and now have been looking at the connection between two past Rectors and Julian Fellowers the actor and writer.....also reading the books on GR readers. Recently I have joined WikiTree a free geanalogy site which may prove useful, so you can tell I have been busy. Will try to write on here once a week, have enjoyed reading what has been happening....love to you all

Jan.

I thought that I had posted a Thank You to you all for coming back on this thred....it has meant so much to me in the years I have lived in Spain, I have learnt a lot about people both in the UK and across the world. Many, I have thought of as good friends and therefore I must apologise to you all for thinking that you had left.

In the last few weeks I have started to write a book for each of my children, this is about who they are, how they have followed there grandparents and many others in their choices of occupation, marriage etc.

We have been invited to a Spanish Wedding Party this evening and have decided to give them a piece of Waterford Glass, I hope we have made the right choice. The man enjoys discussing West Ham United as he is a follower of their matches.

Bye for now and enjoy your day

Bridget :-) <3 :-)
