Does any one have info. on Charles Broughton, born in Wilmslow and died in Lymm, roughly 1954. His daughter Nellie, was my mother. She married Ronald Hugh Booth and they lived in Lymm. I have info. on the Booths but I am having difficulties with the Broughtons. Thanks, Doreen.

Thanks for the info. I do not recognize the address, but I do know he was from Wilmslow originally, I have an address of Alma Lane. This was my grandfather , and Ronald Hugh Booth and Ellen broughton were my parents. I have never heard of the Birgess family.

Mary had had 9 children born, 5 still alive, 4 died.

If this was the correct Charles Broughton ................ then he was not apparently married before 1901, and was still single in 1911


This begs the question of who is Nellie?


I think you have to buy her birth certificate to find out who is named as her father.

There is no Nellie Broughton on the 1911 Census


One Nellie Broughton shows on the 1901 Census, which was taken on the night of 31 March 1901, with the incorrect age of 10 months .............. looking at the image of the census shows that this Nellie was 10 days old

HOWEVER ............ her mother is shown as single, and a domestic servant ............. and they are in the Workhouse.
