Hello, I am looking for the above. Margaret Elizabeth Byers was born 1868, near Barnard Castle, Co Durham. Parents Thomas and Rachael. She married Harry Archer on 11 April 1894 as follows - taken from the The Teesdale Mercury -
A yery quiet wedding took place at St. Mary,, Whorlton, on tbe l l th inst by the Rev O A Monk Smith between Harry, eldest son of James Archer, Harrogate, and Margaret Elizabeth (Lilla), eldest daughter of Thomas Harrison Byers, South Thorpe, Winston. I can't find them on the 1901 census or the 1911 census. However, there is a death for a Harry Archer Dec Q 1907 Ripon district but don't know if this is him and on the 1911 census there is a Lila Archer, she seems to have gone by this name, (aged 41 widow) born parish of Barnard Castle, as a housekeeper to a Frederick Smith at The Woodlands, Skipton. Her father dies 1914 but she is not listed as being among the mourners. There is a Margaret E Archer died June Q 1934 Knaresbrough district but age slightly out. Thank you.

Hello Marie, unfortunately, I don't know anything about Harry - just from the newspaper.

I think you should buy the 1907 death cert, Marian. That would give you his father's name, and whether or not he was married to Fanny..

Without definite information, we're just stabbing in the dark.

Lilla in 1911 does sound like the right person - name and birthplace are right, and age is near enough.

The 1907 death was for an adult - no parental info - unless the father registered it, which I doubt, as he was born in 1824

The 1901 census posted above by Reggie (Harry, Zilla and Maud) is correct.
Her name's transcribed as Tella on Ancestry, but in the image it's definitely Lilla.

So the Ripon death could be possible.

Is there a full list of mourners at her father's funeral?

Her age is a long way out in that 1901 census, so death could also be out.
