Does anyone know if there is a family link between the Tangyes and the Trevithicks? Both families are from Illogan in Cornwall and both were involved in engineering, especially relating to Cornish mining. |

How far back have you traced the Trevithick middle name? |

I can't see any records of this in Cornwall before the 1960's |

There was an engineering firm by the name of Tangye in the Birmingham/Smethwick area around 1900. I have a long service medal for one of my wifes forebears dated about 1909. |

Sir Richard Tangye was born 1833 (per Wikipedia, and as Chris has said), and he already had the middle name Trevithick himself - so nothing to with Richard Trevithick. |
