The lead singer of Flying Pickets in this song was Brian Hibbard who sadly died of cancer in 2012.
He was Welsh, being born in Ebbw Vale, South Wales in 1946.

He played Johnny Mac in my favourite soap- POBOL Y CWM (S4C) Where his character spoke "Pigeon Welsh" A mix of English and Welsh,. Pobol y Cwm is a Welsh Language Soap based in a predominately Welsh Speaking Fictional Village of Cwmderi, supposedly near where I grew up!

He also appeared in Coronation Street and Eastenders.

I liked Paul Young too, as did my young teenage friend (of the time) who used to look after my daughter.
The lucky girl, and her father, saw Paul Young at our local petrol station!!!
Our theory was that he was visiting Simon Le Bon, who was in our hospital following an accident- he was into car racing at the time and had been competing in our local racing circuit. :-D :-D

Ah, Norman Wisdom....such a funny, endearing man. Such a shame our present crop of 'comedians' are, on the whole, so foul- mouthed. They could learn a lot from the originals.
