Hiya Tabitha, Thank You :-D :-D :-D <3
It was brilliant, Tabitha. I will PM you tomorrow about the details. It was Romney Marsh and surrounding areas. We went to St Augustine Brookland, St Peter and St Paul Newchurch and Dymchurch. St Thomas a Becket Fairfield. St Eanswith Brenzett, and St Mary's Orlestone.
All these have long links with my maternal Grandmother's ancestors / family :-)
Edited ooooooo... Queen- my favourite band and Bohemian Rhapsody one of my favourite Queen songs <3

KEEP YOUR FEET STILL GEORDIE HINNY .... JUKEBOX GYPSY
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=alMW15m0esg
At the time, many working men, particularly in the building and civil engineering trades, worked away from home. These were the labourers and navvies who built the railways and canals. They arranged for "digs" wherever the work was, and in most cases, because of the costs and savings available, they slept two or more to a bed. This song features two such Geordies who share a bed in a lodging house. One, Bob Johnson, is very unhappy with his mate Geordie for waking him up when in the middle of a dream about an elusive young maiden from back home, of whom he has high hopes. His dreams are disrupted at the end of each verse by the fidgeting “Geordie”

One of my favourite Welsh Songs
MYFANWY ..... Bryn Tierfel & Welsh Male Voice Choir
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Y2f382uMJvA
English Translation: Why is it anger, O Myfanwy, That fills your eyes so dark and clear? Your gentle cheeks, O sweet Myfanwy, Why blush they not when I draw near? Where is the smile that once most tender Kindled my love so fond, so true? Where is the sound of your sweet words, That drew my heart to follow you?
What have I done, O my Myfanwy, To earn your frown? What is my blame? Was it just play, my sweet Myfanwy, To set your poet's love aflame? You truly once to me were promised, Is it too much to keep your part? I wish no more your hand, Myfanwy, If I no longer have your heart.
Myfanwy, may you spend your lifetime Beneath the midday sunshine's glow, And on your cheeks O may the roses Dance for a hundred years or so. Forget now all the words of promise You made to one who loved you well, Give me your hand, my sweet Myfanwy, But one last time, to say "farewell".

MY KENT FAMILY HISTORY HOLIDAY <3
Day 1: The Journey and the Park: We had quite a good journey, with only one hold up on the motorway due to an accident.
We found the holiday park quite easily, on the Hythe Road near Dymchurch. We had a few problems, however, when we got there. I had upgraded to a silver caravan, but we were given a filthy bronze caravan. After a few arguments, we were given a Gold caravan for no extra charge.
It is only a smallish park, but as we were only going to be using it as a base we were not concerned about that.We were not charged for the entertainment pass as it was the end of season, so we were pleasantly surprised by the quality of the entertainment, particularly by the Entertainment Team all of whom were fantastic singers.
Day 2: Our first Family History visit was to Dymchurch. We went to St Peter and Paul Church where the War Memorial is. My Gran’s sister and her husband, Ada and Alfred Austen, are commemorated on it. http://www.genesreunited.co.uk/keepsafe/asset/details/5259423 They were killed when their bungalow on the seafront took a direct hit by a Luftwaffe bomb in August 1940.
Sadly, headstones in this part of Kent have not stood the test of time due to the soft Kentish sandstone they were made from, and most are now unreadable.
Next, we paid a surprise visit :-D :-D to my extremely surprised 2nd Cousin, who lives in Dymchurch. I “met” H through GR. Her Granddad and my Gran were brother and sister, and siblings to Ada mentioned above. She immediately gave me a great big hug and a big glass of Rose Wine. I met her youngest son and his family. She invited me back the next day.
Day 3: OH and I enjoyed our visit to my very welcoming cousin. We met her husband and neighbour, and all of us sat under her weeping willow drinking wine!! and chatting about family history. As she had never been to see our family history places, I invited her to join us, and she accepted.
Day 4: We picked H up and headed for NEWCHURCH. This was where my Gran, and H's Granddad, were born and lived. I was very pleased to learn that “New Rents” where they lived according to the 1901/ 1911 Census’ was still there. So we drove there and to a farm that H visited as a child where our G.Uncle and his wife lived.
NEW RENTS http://www.genesreunited.co.uk/keepsafe/asset/details/40738666
I was thrilled to find that the Parish Marriage Records were on display at St Peter and St Paul Newchurch. http://www.genesreunited.co.uk/keepsafe/asset/details/41022857
Here I found many family marriage records, including my Gran’s first marriage and My G.Grandmother’s 2nd marriage among many others.
Our next port of call was St Augustine in BROOKLAND. Here I felt very emotional as Brookland is steeped in my family history.

http://www.genesreunited.co.uk/keepsafe/asset/details/40960797
http://www.genesreunited.co.uk/keepsafe/asset/details/40960792
I was thrilled to see the ancient baptism font where generations of my family were christened. Historians believe that it was pilfered from France during the 100 years war! http://www.genesreunited.co.uk/keepsafe/asset/details/40960742
http://www.genesreunited.co.uk/keepsafe/asset/details/40960779
http://www.genesreunited.co.uk/keepsafe/asset/details/40960906
We then had a delicious lunch and a glass of wine, in the next door pub, The Royal Oak. http://www.genesreunited.co.uk/keepsafe/asset/details/41038877
After lunch, we looked around the churchyard, where I knew my ancestors were buried, and although the majority of the headstones were unreadable, we found either our 4th or 5th G.Grandparents (both have same names) grave. http://www.genesreunited.co.uk/keepsafe/asset/details/41039310
We did not have time to look in the cemetery next to the churchyard as H had to be back for a delivery. So I enjoyed another glass of delicious Rose under her willow before going back to the park.
DAY 5: This was the only day it properly rained, so we took the opportunity to rest in the morning and go swimming in the pool in the afternoon. More great entertainment in the evening as the team did songs from the musicals- Grease. Jersey Boys, Dirty Dancing, Hairspray etc.
DAY 6: Another wonderful day in the company of my lovely 2nd Cousin. First we went to HAMSTREETand ORLESTONE, where our Wood / Austen families originated. St Mary’s Church also played a big role in my ancestors lives. Unfortunately it was locked, but we did walk around the grounds. http://www.genesreunited.co.uk/keepsafe/asset/details/41023202
http://www.genesreunited.co.uk/keepsafe/asset/details/41022996
We then went to BRENZETT and it’s church- St Eanswith. http://www.genesreunited.co.uk/keepsafe/asset/details/41038963 Here my 2x G.Grandparents married, as did my 4x G.Grandparents. It’s a really emotional feeling standing where direct ancestors made their marriage vows. After Brenzett, we went to the place that to me felt awe-inspiring! FAIRFIELD. This is where my Ancestors started out before ending up in nearby Brookland. The village no longer exists but the historic church, where another set of my 4x Great Grandparents married, is still there in a deserted spot in a marsh, surrounded by sheep and cattle.
http://www.genesreunited.co.uk/keepsafe/asset/details/40996546
The interior is very striking. It has booths all painted white with black trim. http://www.genesreunited.co.uk/keepsafe/asset/details/41039035
DAY 7: OH and I decided to go back to Newchurch for a second look, as I was so excited the first time that I forgot to take some of the photos I'd planned to take. I took a photo of a very pretty little house which was the old school, very likely the school my gran and siblings attended. http://www.genesreunited.co.uk/keepsafe/asset/details/41039063
I also photographed lots of beautiful scenery and another house which used to be the local public house, called the Black Bull. The daughter of the landlord married my Great Uncle in 1915.
Then it was back to Brookland for another look and a search of the cemetery. I had a list of burials from a Kent Online Genealogy Website, so I knew exactly which family members were here.Again, a very emotional experience!
DAY 8: We delayed the journey home. We had a look around the novelty shops and arcade. Then we had a great lunch in an early 18th Century pub- The Ocean Inn in Dymchurch. http://www.genesreunited.co.uk/keepsafe/asset/details/41039086
I had chicken, wild mushroom and Madeira pie, chips and peas. OH had the Steak and Kidney pie. I was too full for a slice of the delicious looking homemade lemon meringue pie!
Romney Marsh is famous for smuggling in times gone by. This pub had drawings, notices and memorabilia displayed on the walls, which was comical and very interesting. There was also an impressive bird feeding station in the garden.
We then took a long farewell walk on Dymchurch’s Seafront. The tide was full in to the wall. I enjoyed a chocolate icecream. http://www.genesreunited.co.uk/keepsafe/asset/details/41039154
Then we left for home. :-( :-( :-( :-D

Here's another Welsh one you may like Barbra
PAN FO'R NOS YN HIR (When The Night Is Long) .... RYAN & RONNIE https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BaN0tJKF51A
The English Literal Translation
When the night is long and the dawn is far away Battling through the long hours without an hour’s sleep Fighting, tossing and turning through the great, long hours Without seeing the close of yesterday nor the end of my journey
Then through the black darkness I see your face I remember the romance the eyelid closes When the night is long.
Then through the black darkness I see your face Fear and terror vanish away When the night becomes day.
Written by the late great Ryan Davies (from Ryan & Ronnie) who were the Welsh version of Morecambe and Wise but with singing!
