Being too old to be Dorothy, I added Gran, (re names) and must admit it is a probability that it is connected to how I feel, like " where the hell am I?"

Not sure what my name says about me then Gail lol cos I feel anything but sparkly at the mo, it was my Christmas name from 2008!!! The Diamond was from my 60th birthday, as it was the only diamond anniversary I would manage lol, and the Purple has been there from the start, 5 years ago when I was Purple Petunia, a link to the lovely Cilla in Australia, I wonder how she is doing now? I turned into a Purple Poinsettia that Christmas and went from there lol - can't lose the Purple now can I? Maybe time for a change soon.
Good luck with the therapist Carole, you are lucky to get such help, I can't get anything through nhs.

Hello all and welcome Chloe, it's nice to meet another 'family' member, I am not on much these days but I will get back to normal soon then you'll all be fed up of me. I went to see doctor at hospital on Wednesday, she is really pleased with me so thought I'd let you know the good news. All my lumps are shrinking that's obvious just by looking, she couldn't tell me my cancer count in blood because district nurses tried two days to get some but couldn't, I went and had it done at hospital. She will get result today and will ring me if it shows I haven't to start my next lot of chemo, should be ok though. So everything is looking a lot better. Carolina it is lovely to see you, I think about you a lot and wonder how you are going on. Gail, Deanna, Tinkerbell, Ann, Eileen and Liz and Lily, I haven't forgotton you but not posting so much these days, I will get round to it one day soon though. I am being a bit selfish at the moment, I am taken up by my new hobby, card making, it is so addictive. I went out on Tuesday when hubby had a day off and went round the craft department of a store, I spent ages in there and when I got home I couldn't get out of the car, hubby had to come up and get my wheelchair. I like to use my legs while I still can but didn't expect to be so long, they gave out in the end. I will learn one day to stop being so stubborn, but there again I think of it as exercise. Sorry if it is all jumbled, the fibrofog is bad at moment.
Love and hugs to all Caz xx

Caz great to see you post, glad the card making is so interesting for you, next time take the wheel chair with you and you can take your time looking. Understand you wanting to walk, but when there is something interesting and so much to look at, sit down and enjoy. I love going into stationery shops and department stores with stationery sections, I also check out the card making sections and they have such great things, could spend hours just looking.
So glad also Caz that you are finally getting some good results, about time you got some good news.
Have been doing loads of transcription work lately on Australian records and have been having fun with this as so much reading to do with it as well.
We have had lovely rain today, one of those days where I just wanted to stay in my PJ's all day. As I had to feed the pets, had no choice but to get dressed, should have just put my raincoat over the PJ's and enjoyed. The leaves on the trees are starting to turn, early, so looks like we may be in for an early winter. Autumn is usually only 6 weeks here but looks like a full 3 months this year, or early winter. We do not get snow, it does get very cold though, and cold always brings more pain.
Well off to the land of nod soon, so high to everyone and thinking of all of you.
love and hugs

Hi everyone, So happy to see that you do not forget me even when I am not here for a while. Thanks for that. It is getting warmer... although it is still cold for me. I am on searching the web for a rise & recliner chair to replace my poor sick chair. It can be fixed but at a high price. I may as well have a new one. Hope you are all well. I am okay, can't grumble... well, yes I can but no one listens to me! ;-0)
I was at the 'flicks' on Wednesday. FLICKS... that ages me, and me only 17 too! I am going again tomorrow. Son took me to see *THE CRAZIES*... enjoyed it a lot once I learnt not to yelp at every shock ! Tomorrow we are going to see *WHERE THE WILD THINGS LIVE*. Son, DIL and her niece and nephew... little ones. You can guarantee that I will be more trouble than the children! We have just also decided to take them for a meal.... Allan doesn't want to come. The volume of sound in the picture house is too much for Allan and he rarely wants to suffer it. He is a bit deaf but high volumes are worse than a whisper to him. he has a hearing aid, but WILL NOT WEAR IT... I AM GETTING TOO COLD IN HERE SO I AM OFF FOR A WARM IN THE LIVING ROOM....oops, sorry for shouting I forgot to unlock. Am going to get warm, then have lunch.... always soup on a Saturday... then read my book until I am warm enough to come back in here to search again.
You are all SO jealous of my exciting life aren't you? I knew it.... ;-0)
Have a lovely day and stay warm, and happy. Love to all... Ann, Carole, Caz, Liz, Colin, Ben,Joyce.... both of them... Gail, Eileen, Claire, and I see we have a couple of new ones.... welcome to the best thread on the site. lots of love, Deanna XXXXX

Hi all, been away for the weekend visiting my daughter and family, we all went out for a lovely Thai meal on Saturday to celebrate Grandson's 18th birthday. He chose the restaurant, actually it is a Fusion, that is a mixture of Thai and japanese and Chinese, very tasty. Grandson enjoys Sushi and we enjoy Thai so it suited us all. Well maybe not Grandson's girlfriend so much as she is vegetarian but she found something to eat (looked like bean sprouts and noodles.)
I am pleased to see on another thread that Mary's brace is due to come off but Oh dear poor Mary, now she has shingles, I suspect that is down to all the stress. I do hope you will soon be over that Mary.
And that Deanna is gadding about at the flicks!!! Glad you enjoyed the fiorst and hope the second was good too. Pity Allan wont wear his aid Deanna, they do make such a difference once you force yourself to get used to them, less frustrating for other people too.
Caz, so pleased that things seem to be looking up for you, I do hope the blood test has good results. Enjoy your card making, I am sure it is relaxing for you.
Gail, hope it is not going to get too cold for you but glad you have had some rain. It is a beautiful morning here, very bright and sunny although crisp and cold with a frost.
Better get on.

Deanna I do envy you the flicks, love going to the movies, it is so far to travel we only go every now and then.
Ann glad you had a great time, hate sushi, love Thai and Chinese food. Would love some fried rice right now.
Poor Mary, now shingles, hope she got on the anti virals quickly, and they do the job. Shocking thing shingles. They scare the hell out of me.
Now where is our little Tinkerbell at lately? Hope you are okay, know you are in the land of the living from the funnies you send, but want to know you are okay. How did the new treatment go.
We have had rain on and off all weekend and a little today, been watching the grass grow. I get to mow the grass this week. At least I can do that sitting. It is still difficult to put weight on my foot, and have been walking on the side of the foot, not good I know, but I can at least get around.
Chickens look a real sight while moulting, they are really doing a full moult this year and eating like there is no tomorrow. Chickens are very sensitive to weather changes as are cats, who are also moulting and getting winter coats, not so good with long haired cats, which two are, and our mostly white cat has to rub himself on dark clothes and I have white fur all over me. Our dog has very short hair and I suppose he will be looking for his coat soon, he sure lets you know when he wants it on. Lovely dog though.
Love and hugs

I will never complain about too much rain, only people in cities complain about rain in Australia. Us country folk will meet on the street in the middle of a thunder storm and say "What a beautiful day we are having, isn't the rain glorious" and "How much rain did you get? We had 8 mils yesterday"
Rain! bring it on, I will complain when I have to start building a boat.
Love Mary's shorthand, and it is readable Mary, so looking forward to more news. I have missed Graeth and Sarah's antics, not sure of spelling so sorry.

Hi Gail, glad you are getting the rain you needed.
Mary had a lift to the store later yesterday and when her friend opened the boot to put shopping in, there was a keyboard, she asked if Mary knew if anyone wanted one!!!!! No excuse now, Mary, now you have a good keyboard again lol
take care all, my counselling went well and I am feeling very positive about it all, really have a good rapport with the counsellor. Went to docs afterwards and she has put me on more vit d tablets as well as having to have a blood test in May six months after the jab I had. Says she is sure it is new hair growing a bit so cross your fingers folks, that I have a better head of hair very soon.
love to all Lizxxx

Good afternoon/morning to every one. Good to see you again Mary You too Deanna. Are you still around chloe? Beautiful name, by the way. I can almost picture you.. I hope Carole Tink is OK, its been a few days since she's been on. Being one of those city folk, I must admit I do complain about the rain sometimes. Mostly, when it is cold and windy. I don't know that country people never complain, Gail- just joking. The city of Wagga Waqga got quite a dumping the other day. The city itself is protected by a levee bank, but upstream around Ladysmith and Kyeamba Creek it looked pretty flooded. In southern Queensland, despite the widespread flooding I'm sure that they will be planting and restocking like crazy. I just hope the banks play ball and lend enough money. xx Colin

Good morning everyone,
Have decided to renew GR membership, even though I don't do any research. maybe one day....
Hardly dare say it, but we are having spring-like weather the last 5 days, with one small blip on sunday, when it started snowing again.
Lots happening, but I don't post, mostly read the threads though.
On the 27th, I am leaving for Brittany with a daughter, she plans to make a holiday of it. Am dreading it, to be honest.2 weeks is pretty long and difficult, if you are not an experienced driver.......still, I do want to see a grandaughter getting married on the 3rd april....... oh oh, it's sarting to jump again, should have typed it in the Word program...I do know how to do this now , thank goodness.
Wishing all of you a peaceful, happy time, there are many of you, too many to name here, who are soooo kind and caring.

Hello Eileen, perhaps everyone else is sleeping in. Is it the distance you will be driving that worries you, or the number of days you will be travelling? As an Aussie, I don't have much idea of distances and road conditions in Europe. Perhaps a couple of hundred miles in one day with a few days in one place to recover might help. I think short trips on the other days might be OK. It must be difficult coping with driving on the other side of the road, even if you take your own car. The only places I've actually driven are keep to the left. Anyone else about?

good morning all, Gail, can just imagine a gaggle of people in pouring rain stopping for a chat, here we'd all be running for cover. Hi Colin, OH always says when driving on the 'wrong' side of the road he has to remember that the driver has to be in the middle of the road (unless of course you take your own car across to Europe from here when the driver will be on the wrong side!!!!0 Hello Eileen, I am sure you will be fine and will have a great time. glad you are renewing, Lovely to see you.

My OH and I have each been driving around forty years but have never driven on the wrong side of the road.Well we have but not legally perhaps! We have long toyed with the idea of going over to France for the day to lay a cross on the grave of one of the family lost in the Great War but have chickened out so far. Has anybody looked on the Narcissistic Mothers thread? There is a wonderful result on their which is all down to Stella seeing the article.
I am chuffed to little houses!

Ann, we actually stand under umbrellas or the verandas on the shops, but is is pleasant.
Colin, maybe I was exaggerating a little, I really feel for those that have been flooded out lately, at least living in and near the mountains the water runs away.

Colin, no it isn't the distance, have never minded that in the past. When 3 of my kids were in their late teens, I drove them and the girlfriend to Portugal...was the only driver back then....we have always gone on co-called 'long haul' hols.I am worried because the driver in this case, is my daughter who drove her car into a ditch some time back.....Lol.My ex. wants me to do most of the driving...hmmmm.And, on top of it, this daughter wants to stay in youth hostels along the way...she has never been in one before, we have..most were pretty good, some disgraceful and even scary.Long story. We will be staying at another daughter's house for several days, before heading back. Thanks for your words of encouragement Ann.Just thinking about the whole things gives me the willies. It is 1,100 kms. to Primelin, Brittany.....
Sun is still shining, must go make some hay.

Hi Eileen, how are you these days?
We went to the flicks and it was lovely. The children loved it, although Patrick (Karens nephew) watched it with his hood up. I think it was a fear thing. we went out for a meal, which Jessica would not allow me to call 'dinner'. "It's LUNCH".... Then a trip around Tesco's ... Patrick had been saving for a particular toy, so the trip was a must, as you will all agree. The sun shone all day and I had a great time, although I was cold.... well I always am. We are goinmg to see another one , but I don't know when. "How to train your Dragon"... Oh I do like the intellectual films, don't you? ;-0)
Mary, what are you doing to YOU? Shingles now? Such a good kind lady should not have to suffer the problems visited upon you love. Get well soon gor goodness sake woman. XX
Well, I have ordered and paid for my new Riser recliner chair. Tony gave me the money for mothers day, bless him, but Allan is going to see that he gets some of it back... he really cannot afford it. He saves and he should not spend it on me...... EVEN though I am the best mother in the whole wide world!!! ha ha ha family joke, Karen disagrees, she says it is her mother.... the foolish girl. ;-0)
You will not believe this.... but.... I am sitting here at the 'pooter' without a cardigan on!!!! AND, I am comfortable. Spring coming do you think?
I am looking forward to being able to chat with you all every day again. A little sunshine and warmth and I will become attatched to my pooter again. My BIL has been for a scan today, and I forgot to phone him!! O.M.G... what a horrible SIL I am. I will phone him after tea. I remembered all day too...
well folks enough of my rubbish, look after yourselves and keep well.
Love to all, Caz, Carole, Sidney, Gail, Mary, Eileen, Liz, Sharron,Ann, and everyone I have not mentioned. Allan is calling me for Tea.... and he will beat me if I don't hurry up. ;-P
