Hate to be a party pooper but... you know those fab new sites you're talking about ? You do realise taht if we all descended on them they too would gridn to a halt as they wouldn't be able to cope with the demand ? I for one enjoy the GC/GR experience (whats in a name for goodness sake), and being an IT system administrator myself, appreciate that things don't always run smoothly. Give the guys a break, I'm sure they'll iron out all the little foibles as time goes by...

Sorry if I'm being thick, but OneGreatFamily is a pay site too isn't it? Also it's American and seems to have very few English ancestors on there. Am I on the wrong site? Sue

I haven't even had a reply from Genesconnected yet to my email. But either their tekkies work at the speed of sound or we weren't the "first to know" about the name change. Things like that take time to put in place. I think we were the last to know - as we always are! Am already looking for alternatives and have stopped recommending this site. Angela

I've just registered for onefamilytree. It's a bit basic but seems to have a lot of potential. And best of all, in the several minutes I have been using the site and adding details no spyware has attempted to download to my pc. However, while logging into Genesconnected just long enough to post this message, 4 bits of spyware have tried to download. Hmm. Angela

I personally don't have a problem with the Genes Connected site - it works well bearing in mind the scope of it. My problem when the last changes came in were that the Board names should reflect what should go on them. It seems to me that just as we have that sorted out, someone comes up with a name change for the site which does NOT reflect what it is about. It is surely about those connected, or who may be connected, by their genes. Reunited is misleading and irrelevant.

"The name change was genuinely the product of research we did and it seemed to make sense to us." Who did they research this on then? Not me! Debbie
