My wife got the "Hopes and Fears" CD today. Have been enjoying listening to it. Any others like it too? [keanemusic.*com]

Yes, it's an excellent album, one of the best I've bought recently.

Was thinking of getting it myself. Either of you chaps want to give it a review? Jeanette

I'm crap at reviews, but basically... not one bad track on the album, very good melodies, having no guitar makes a refreshing change, very piano driven... I'd offer to make a copy but *cough* that would be illegal and I would NEVER do such a thing ;)

Jeanette, Go to their website - there's some audio there.

John I've got lots of Georges in my tree but no Ringos yet! lol I doubt I will have the cd in my possession long enough to do a review. I usually get to listen to a cd once (twice if I'm lucky!) then it disappears into my teenage daughters room never to be seen again. They do sometimes reappear when we've had a barny about the state of her room - usually at high speed and in my general direction! lol Have either of you two heard Jets Get Born cd yet. Sorry Paul it is guitars but well worth a listen. Jeanette

Hey, I have nothing against guitars per se, just made a nice change to bring the piano to the fore. No... haven't heard the Jets CD yet.. wife keeps telling me I buy too many CD's (a couple a week), so I haven't got that one yet...

Hi all Just thought I would throw in some comments on Keane as the CD is hardly ever out of my CD player at the moment! I saw them when they were supporting Travis earlier this year. They were amazing! Hadn't really heard of them before that but I went straight out and bought the album and have been listening to it ever since. Lynne

yes, I'm actually listening to them at the moment, copied the CD onto my laptop, it's played almost daily at the moment

I hope to see Keane in Birmingham in November. I haven't heard Jets CD either. CDs and certificates - I have to ration what I buy!!

Well, Hopes and Fears found its way into my shopping trolley yesterday. And I'd like to say thank you to Paul and John for recommending it - it's brill! Even my other half likes it and he usually only listens to stuff that's at least 20 years old! lol. No.1 Daughter did get her mitts on it for a short while but only after I'd made threats of certain death if I didn't get it back! lol Don't you think that Bend and Break (my tip for their next single) sounds rather like Freddie Mercury? Jeanette

I agree, John, it's really great and I already can sing along with some of the tracks! lol As an "oldie", it is interesting to note that my son 23 and daughter 20 also enjoy this CD. Sue

Well, finally got round to buying 'Hopes and Fears' today and it's very, very good indeed. Current faves are 'Bend & Break' and 'This Is The Last Time'. Vocalist sounds a bit like Fran Healy of Travis at times but it's confident sounding and very listenable. Impressive stuff.

You've got discerning taste there Andy. I'm going to see them in Birmingham in two weeks time. I'll give them your regards shall I?
