Hope you feel better soon Lisa, this type of food poisoning is, unfortunately, quite common and hard to trace. A friend of mine had it and she was quite down and not herself for a couple of weeks - it does drain you, so take care!

Lisa, Pleased that you now have a result. personally i would not go to that Chinese again if it were me. Both chicken and prawns are very suspect when it comes to food poisening, and chicken is very easy to undercook. I can't believe they can't trace it, although maybe it was because the tests were done too long a time after you went down with it, and maybe nobody else reported being ill. A lot of people don't. I have separate chopping boards for meat ,veg and fish, you have to be so careful with cross contamination. Normally I think restaurants have to keep samples of the food they cook in the fridge for a couple of days but I don't know about chinese take aways. i am sure that the E health will have done a rapid inspection of the place though. I hope your daughter has not caught it from you. did you go on preparing the family food while you had it? Ann glos
