All this debate about smoking and non smoking has made me think of the smells that get up my nose (literally! lol) I like perfume. I like to wear perfume. BUT why do some people bathe in the stuff! I don't want to be able to know who is in a room because I can smell their perfume at the door!

The smell of Christian Dior's POISON..... it is poison, it smells like poison and I'd like to kill the makers of it!! YUK!!

mags the perfume that i love and wear all the time,you can spray it on as much as you like and it's not overpowering.it's davidoff cool water for women.it's lovely and people comment on it when i wear itxxxx(:

I once worked with someone who bathed in poison! I always had a headache when around her. I was always told if you can smell your own perfume you've got too much on! Jane

My mum used to think Poison was great - I used to think it smelled like Flit flyspray! My husband thought it was great being able to tell people that he had bought his mother in law poison for Christmas lol Magsx

Obsession used to smell like chocolate on me.... well at least that's what the population of Windsor told me when i was out of a night!! :O)

Love perfumes, Chanel Givenchy Kenzo Jo malone. There are so many now.

Some people seem to think that because they have liberally doused themselves with perfume/aftershave you won't be able to smell their BO. Wrong - you just choke twice as much.

hehe when I was about 12, I bought perfume from a jumble sale (remember them?) I put some on & bout an hour later couldnt smell it so on went more....and more...and more... Went round my aunt who shouted PHOWWWWR! what you been bleedin barfin in? Well I thought i smelt great hehe. i can't stand poison but love hypnotic poison,whenever i wear it at least one person asks what i'm wearing and say it smells really nice.has anyone tried the new poison,pure poison? its vile and sure lives up to its name, karen

Mags - reminds me of an occasion when I was waiting for a flight at Heathrow. Was wandering around the (then new) Terminal 4 shop and a saleswoman liberally sprayed me with some perfume (not at my reuqest!). It didn't smell too bad at first but I kept getting wafts of it and it reminded me of something I couldn't quite put my finger on.... smell is so evocative! After about an hour of increasingly horrible wafts, it finally dawned on me - we used to go on boat holidays as a kid and had 'empty-out' elsans as loos - and the perfume smelt just like elsan fluid (a unique, very strong chemical smell!) - YUK, have always steered clear of perfume counters since!

The smell of poison makes me literally feel sick. My worst hate is people who wear heavy perfume on aircraft. But poison anywhere is ...ugh!!! Ann Glos

I love lots of perfumes Paris Tresor Chanel no5 I think my favorite is Paris Val

I hated estee lauder youth dew, it always gave me a really bad headache and made me feel sick if anyone wore it.

Have only used two for about 30 years - Chanel No.5 and Estee - the Youth Dew used to smell like mildew when I put it on.

Yes, I think Poison had to be one of the worst perfumes ever made - bleugh!! Being pregnant made my sense of smell very keen, and at that time I couldn't bear anyone to wear perfume near me, I used to heave. Even now, 16 years later, I can't bear people overdoing the perfume, especially those 'smells like' ones lol. Anything too strong either gives me a migraine or turns my stomach over. I usually wear Lancome's Miracle. Mandy :)

I cannot bear the smell of anything with Vanilla. I could be sick and it also gives me a very bad headache. Viv

My faves are Gucci & Jean Paul Gaultier, only for night out though!! I hate women who wear really heavy 'nightime' perfume in the day, and you can smell it after they've gone for about half an hour!!!
