1984 was when me and my boyfriend (now husband) went on our first holiday abroad together, to Aegina in Greece. I remember the music was George Michael's Careless Whisper and Eartha Kitt's Where is my baby? which were played everywhere. nell

1984 was the year i left school 20 yrs ago and it still seems like yesterday To celebrate we are having a school reunion and have been told to dig out old leg warmers and ra ra skirts, lol I cant wait, lol Allie

the silver fern was just down the road from the great harry.now called the ferryman.near the shore is a pub called the rising sun...used to go to brookfield seniors school.long time ago......XX(:

1984 The start of the year-long miners' strike, the result of one woman's vendetta against a trade union. Arthur Scargill warned of a hit list of 50 pits (he underestimated - it was over 150). The year that resulted in the much increased dependency upon imported fuels to this country and a serious trend towards the depletion of natural gas stocks owing to their use for power generation, a change of a great deal more significance than a few thousand telephone jobs in the Home Counties to India. I remember it well.
