Incidentally, although a lot of these singers are now no longer with us, how lucky we are that they lived in an age where their work could be recorded for future generations to share. I wonder how many fantastic voices there have been in the past? I would have loved to hear Bessie Smith on today's technology - although I have some recordings they aren't as clear as they would be now. nell |

Dusty springfield was the white mother of soul,,ella fitzgerald ,has to be the all time greatest jazz singer,and recently ,there have been so many,dianna ross,barbara striesland,mama cass, to name but a few,some of them so new i can't remember their names but will never forget their voices .Fred.ptfg. |
