Does anyone else remember this one - my sister and I recite it and always get blank looks (think it was Maxwell House):- He - 'This aint the coffee we usually 'ave' She - 'What's wrong with it?' He - 'It tastes - eeeeh, 'orrid!' She - 'It was cheap' He - 'I'm not surprised...' She - 'and it came in a HUGE....' He - 'Huge, how huge?' She - 'It'll last a long time...' (we get strange looks as well as blank ones!!)

Pat

Pat Report 7 Nov 2004 18:27

Viv Thats the one I loved "how do yer like yer eggs fried or boiled" then the poor fella goes into dreamland voice over or poached, or scrambled or .............and it went on I thought that was a great ad. Silverkrin shampoo ad with the great music, done by John Barry (I remember that as it was the B side of the Persuaders single). the ad featured a young woman in a boat with that glazing sort of out of focus camera. 1001 cleans a big big carpet, for less than half a crown.. for less than two and six (in a very deep voice) yes, I remember Christine and "In Columbia, South America Juan Bouldez(?) and his son pick coffee beans" and "Sorry, mate, you're too late: the best peas have gone to Birds Eye" and "A lady without her Cutex - Ooh! - isn't dressed" which we mocked as we dressed in the local swimming baths.... remember outdoor swimming pools?
