I read a book once called "The Games People Play". Games like "Ain't it Awful" ... a technique used by persons unable to make conversation except by complaining about everything and everyone. A game I notice being played out on this board, mostly favoured by ladies of a certain age, whose testosterone level is rising as their feminine hormone oestrogen is in decline, is "Look at me, I'm a Victim". A wail of anquish arises from someone, who imagines they have been criticised or slighted, calling for everyone to witness how cruelly they are being crucified and calling for public apologies . You want the opinion of an oldie?.... I confess to using chat rooms in MSN and other sites. I found this message board and thought it was wonderful and refreshing. I do hope you all dont change the lay out. I can choose what I answer and add to or not. I do NOT have to tolarate the so called 'whispers' I also found that being a member of a chat room and also going to the meets, It changed the way the chat room was run. They became...'clicky' PLEASE dont let this happen here. Yes the emoticons (smileys) helped but believe you me!....you get so you cannot write or send a text without wanting to use one! (damn! wheres that confussed smiley face?) lol See what I mean?????? This is a great site and a nice way of comunicating and sharing ideas. Long live us lot! lol Gerri x |

I think I must have missed something here. Does anyone know what criteria GR use to remove a topic from one of the Boards? There's been so many lately - there's a good discussion going on one minute then it disappears. I know it gets heated sometimes but as others have pointed out, a click of the mouse and you're somewhere else. There is no excuse for personal attacks but also it's no good taking umbridge because someone doesn't agree with a certain opinion. Surely GR don't just delete a topic because one person complains. GR if you believe a topic has got out of hand for some reason, you should at least put up some sort of "warning" advising why you are contemplating deleting. This is my opinion and I don't know if anyone else agrees with it but if things carry on the way they are there'll be more established members leaving and that would be a pity. Sorry if this is not what others think, it's just my opinion. Jan |
