To all the mums out there do you feel like a taxi driver, i'm sitting at the moment waiting for a phone call from my daughter to pick her up from a concert , does it get any better? Tracy

My eldest is only nearly 13. Im the one that has to take her mates home all the time, or pick them all up from places because their parents dont have cars. It can be annoying at times but at least i know they are all home, safe and sound.

Yes Tracy, it gets better; the "parents taxi service" gets more popular, lol! Oh well, at least we know that they're safe. Glenys x

The great thing here in NZ is they can get their licence at 15! So my 17 yr old daughet has had her own car for almost a year!

My kids are learning to change gear at the moment. When its not to busy, i put in the clutch and they do the gears.

My son is 16 and I still give him lifts everywhere, but he doesn't take advantage. Public transport isn't too good in the area surrounding our small town, so we feel it's safer if one of us runs him around. I change my msn login quite frequently, but by far the most regular one is Mandy Minicab! Mandy :)

HI TRacy, they get a restricted licence at 15 so they can't drive their mates around and cant drive after 10pm or before 6 am. Its a good way of getting them used to driving

Even when you are a Nan, the taxi service is still in demand. June xx

I dont mind being a taxi service! Id rather do it than have the thoughts of him being stuck in the bus station at 10pm. He is only 12 and goes to sea cadets otherwise we would never allow him out at that time of night..

We had a farm when our boys were teenagers. It was great but we only had a bus on Tuesdays which returned on Thursdays.Never did find out where it went in between. So if the boys wanted to go anywhere guess who drove them- Rose
