	Oatmeal in your bath water, and then have a good soak in it, is supposed to be good for the skin.

	So I found a recipe on-line for pinhead oatmeal parkin. It looked like quite large portions of ingredients but who am I to argue? It did use up a few things though. I didn't have enough treacle but there was a tin of golden syrup in the cupboard that had solidified. That went in along with that molasses sugar I have had in the cupboard since I made the 2012 Christmas cake which made up for the rest of the treacle and my not having that other dark brown sugar, the name of which escapes me. Anyway, we now have two big parkins which were cooked last night and have already improved somewhat by becoming stickier. There is still plenty of coarse oatmeal though.

	I have to be persuaded to make crumble because I don't like it. Bit dubious about putty things out for the birds because I have seen too many rats enjoying the feast.

	Yus, I make wholemeal crumbles and add plenty of scotch oats to the mix. Would the birds like some of your oats?

	Santa is sleeping in my bed again this year anyway and I don't really have any use for oat milk. Actually, when we first went into lockdown, I got in a big bag of porridge oats and a bag of dates to make oat milk in case we couldn't get fresh milk so I still have a tidy few porridge oats and plenty of dates as well.

	You could make Oat flour bread. Put the oats in burgers. Make a face pack.

	Just remembered... My mother-in-law used to make skirlie and very tasty it was too. Not sure of her recipe, but there are some suggestions online. You could combine some of that with potatoes to make potato cakes for a change.

	Yes, I guess so. What about oatmeal pancakes? You could serve them sweet or savoury.
