My hairdresser is due on Friday, can’t wait :-D

Is your hairdresser working on Friday?

I am a very long term regular with mine and she is making an effort to fit us all in beforeThursday.

I got mine cut last week thank goodness

Von Report 2 Nov 2020 15:09

I’m growing mine. Just as well as my appointment is next Tuesday ;-)

Sharron

Sharron Report 2 Nov 2020 15:13

You would be growing it anyway!

I have been going regularly every week since July, when they opened again, but mine has decided that, with all the latest restrictions, she is going to retire!! :-(

So I am now looking for a new hairdresser, at just about the most inconvenient time possible. At least in this area they are still allowed to open.

I had mine done today, made the appointment back in Sept. Unusually for me, a case of good timing!

Our hairdresser came and did the family this afternoon.

Still cutting the front and sides myself and letting OH loose on the back.

He does a decent job too! :-D

nameslessone Report 2 Nov 2020 18:39

I was just thinking I needed a haircut, so now I’ going to have to do it to myself ;-)

Where do you live Emma? In England we are not going to be allowed visitors.

'Emma'

'Emma' Report 2 Nov 2020 18:52

I’m in Scotland :-)

Allan Report 2 Nov 2020 21:04

Even if I lived in England I'd have no such problems; I shave my head :-)

People who are coming to your home for work are allowed to aren't they?

JoyLouise Report 3 Nov 2020 00:42

I'm not sure so I'd have to check, Kath.

My hairdresser is a travelling one but as she is going into everyone else's home as well as mine, I felt it safer to do my own hair (with OH's help) as I would never forgive myself if she came and, unwittingly, had just picked up the virus at one of the other homes she'd visited, passed it on to me and I passed it on to OH who has health issues.

I felt it better to be safe than sorry because the symptoms of the virus often take a few days to appear.

I think the people allowed to come in and work are more likely to be the plumber or electrician. Last I heard was they hadn’t yet decided whether to include decorators, so I don’t think hairdressers would be included.

Our local water company has continually refused to replace my son’s broken water meter as they believe they can’t enter the flat. :-P

JoyLouise

JoyLouise Report 3 Nov 2020 09:29

Names, allowing people like plumbers and electricians makes sense to me as I would class those services as essential. Decorating and hairdressing in the home, I would say are inessential.

One of my pals (also cutting her own hair) has kept herself busy by painting every room in her home.

KathleenBell

KathleenBell Report 3 Nov 2020 09:42

Yes, I think I was wrong. I'd forgotten that workman could only come into homes for essential work - and I don't suppose you could call hairdressers essential.

We have the plumper coming today to service the boiler and gas fire - so I'm grateful that the wind has died down and it's not too cold as we have to have the boiler off until he's been at lunchtime.

I don't usually pick up on spelling mistakes because I can't type but I do love the idea of the plumper coming. I just picture him making everything comfortable.
