Is a challenge at the moment. Lewis annoyed the rough caster and the tree surgeons we’ve had round recently by firing a water pistol at them. He’s also hit Mr Owl and me with it more than once.

Lewis was out on the street with friends after 10pm. All you heard was his mother shouting at 10.30 “What are you lot still here for?” Today mum was shouting again and all I could make out was Lewis shouting swear words back at his mum.

Lewis is now out the front on the island in the middle of the road. This island is around 15m by 6m and covered in grass.

Lewis is 12 years old.

Does Lewis have learning difficulties?

I trust that isn't his real name?

Tawny

Tawny Report 7 Jul 2020 14:19

Lewis is not his real name. Lewis doesn’t have any learning difficulties. When speaking to his mum Annie she says he’s just a real handful. Annie flirts with Mr Owl a lot so we find out a lot of information from her about her life.

I’m not worried about Mr Owl and Annie. Annie is too old for him at 43 and she lives with a partner. Hopefully Lewis doesn’t keep squirting people with water pistols or one day he might squirt the wrong person.

Too old at 43? :-0

Can Mr Owl not be that 'wrong person' and take the water pistol from him as he's getting along so nicely with Annie?

Sharron

Sharron Report 7 Jul 2020 18:17

I wonder if the flirtatious mother or her partner might be the problem and Lewis is looking for help in the only way he can.

Sounds as though he is bored and should be back at school. Best not to react if he shoots water at you. He is old enough to know better. Sounds like Mum has no control.

Personally I would get my own water pistol and fill it with water and henna dye, but I'm not an expert on childcare :-D

Does Lewis's mum know he's firing his pistol at your workmen?

Tawny

Tawny Report 7 Jul 2020 19:06

Mr Owl is 37 and I’m 35 until next week. We mentioned to mum that he was firing at the workmen and she said she’d have a word. A water pistol of our own isn’t a bad idea as long as mum consents. Mr Owl and I are not bothered if we get wet as Mr Owl has four children between the ages of 5 and 10 years old and I’ve had brownies for 20 years. I think he is bored there is a grand total of seven other siblings but none of them live there. Mums partner is his stepdad.

43yo woman too old for a 37yo man??? :-0 :-S

I thought you were going to say he was twenty something!

Tawny

Tawny Report 7 Jul 2020 19:44

Mr Owl has always preferred younger woman. We met online when I was 31 and he was 33. I said my preferred age was 32-45 and his was 25-32.

Has your mentioning his socially unacceptable behaviour to his mum put a stop to it?

Tawny

Tawny Report 7 Jul 2020 21:52

Sadly not yet. We’ve lived here 3 years and this is the first year we’ve had him really testing things. It could be hormones but at 12 I would never have sworn at my mother or fired things at the neighbours.

Personally, I'd 'have a word' with Lewis - at 12 he should know better!

I 'had a word' with my neighbours 2 sons years ago, when they were about 13 and 14.
Their shed is against my fence - and they, and some freinds were smoking skunk in there.
I went to the local corner shop - they came in, and I suggested they went back home and changed, as they stunk of skunk - and If I could smell it, so could others.

They were so shocked that an 'old bag' knew what they'd been up to - and didn't grass (excuse the pun) on their mum, that they were as good as gold 'my' side of the garden after that, and are lovely now, in their 30's, when they come to see their mum.
