Tawny
Figures release yesterday showed that the virus infected numbers in Berkshire had more than doubled and the journey down would take Mr Owl through some VERY high areas.
Why not try and persuade him to write a letter to his grandmother and ask staff to read it to her if she can't do it herself.
I'm sure she would not wish him to take the long journey.
A local radio phone in doctor has also told a man who received the 12 week isolation letter that he cannot go home to Yorkshire and that he must stay in his digs.

Keep Strong

So sorry for Mr Owl and his Grandma, Tawny. I hope there is a chance for Mr Owl to see his beloved Grandma before the sad end. Such difficult time for you all.

Take care

Hi Tawny.

They should allow you more time as an announcement was made to say one should not buy/sell or move.

Estate agencies have closed.

Thank you Jem and nameslessone.

We have been told we can visit when grandma is at her last so we’ll see what stage the world is at then. Grandma’s flat is rented in sheltered housing so we will also need to speak to them and see if we can pay an extra month to allow us to get things sorted. Hopefully in the current climate they will be amenable to that.

Oh Tawny, that is such a long way. I only live 40-60 minutes away and would have to think hard before I went.

My BIL died in a hospice recently. They were wonderful. Always spoke to him and asked him questions even when he was out of it.

They were brilliant at passing messages backwards and forwards. All the staff were fantastic and I’m sure the one in Windsor will be as good.

The funniest thing was when my BIL was offered alternative treatments. He said it was fine, he saw a therapist. Had to explain they meant aromatherapy, reflexology and other things. He had the aromatherapy several times and she bought in things to sniff.

Also bear in mind that the virus numbers in that area are rising. There are a lot of London commuters living around there.

Just remember that they will make her very comfortable. It will always be harder for the family.

All the best..

Oh Tawny! I am so very sorry to hear this sad news :-(
Perhaps you could ring the hospice and ask their advice.

My heart goes out to you both and all the family

as sad as it is and so very sorry, but think of the larger picture.

So from home to Windsor,,,,,,toilet stops will need to be made,,,,,,,,,,where? and was used by,,,,,,,, whom? last cleaned ?-------the hospice staff and their families could be compromised.

Such sad news Tawny I am so sorry for your OH but there was a hospice on TV the other night (in this area) and visitors were not allowed. The staff and patients are so vulnerable. He will be sad at not being able to see her but he should rest assured that she will be very well looked after, all hospices have lovely staff. I know that is not much consolation but I also think police are stopping motorists all over England to check if their journey is necessary and sending them home if it is not. <3

Tawny Report 27 Mar 2020 12:28

Mr Owl will phone 111 to check as well as the hospice before we do anything. His birth dad died of cancer when Mr Owl was 6 months old and his aunt is immunocompromised so there is no one else.

Mr Owl went to his grandparents house every Sunday growing up and they took him on holiday too.
