It was Allan I was thinking of :-D :-D He seems proud to live on the edge of civilisation as we know it.

Not a goad morning here in S Wales, SueM. Too cold here, with snow likely later :-( :-(

Allan

Allan Report 14 Jan 2013 22:08

Coming to West Oz made a man of me, John. My new avatar is a photo of me prior to leaving the UK.

Must rush...I have to dig a new dunny :-D

JustJohn Report 14 Jan 2013 22:11

It's cheaper to get one of "those" operations in WA, Allan :-D Has your billy boiled yet?

Allan

Allan Report 14 Jan 2013 22:18

Have heard that the majority of Wales will remain bilingual if the Welsh Conservatives win the next election for the Senedd. But it is planned to make some parts monolingual because of the cost of duplicating all the forms when so few people need them in both languages.

Counties and county boroughs affected initially will be Gwynedd, Ynys Mon, Conwy, Sir Gaerfyrddin, Ceredigion and Bro Morgannwg. It is planned to extend this cost saving as quickly as possible to further counties and county boroughs.

If any residents prefer to receive their documents in English or prefer an English speaking operator, that facility will still be available and will be reviewed annually according to demand and budgetary constraints.

Mr Andrew R T Farr T Davies (Leader of Welsh Conservatives) announced this plan as a desperate attempt to get anybody in any part of the principality to vote Welsh Conservative at the next election :-) ;-) The Leader of the Welsh Liberals (KIrsty Williams aged 17) said she could see pluses and minuses in the new monolingual policy.

Dermot

Dermot Report 15 Jan 2013 17:00

Dr Tom Parry Jones OBE of Anglesey, the inventor of the electronic breathalyser died recently. (RIP).

A Welshman who produced an instrument of value for the benefit of the whole community.

JustJohn

JustJohn Report 15 Jan 2013 17:14

Q. Why this gives the Welsh a bad reputation. A. The late Dr Parry invented the breathalyser, an instrument of value?

Dermot? Is that an example of what is called Irish logic? :-S :-S

What a strange thing to say John

So this thread has'nt gone off the topic of the OP then? or only when it suits you it seems

JustJohn

JustJohn Report 15 Jan 2013 17:53

No Jax. Never gone off topic before. Unless you know something I don't :-) ;-)

OP is a stickler for discipline :-)

AnnCardiff

AnnCardiff Report 15 Jan 2013 18:24

so you are assuming Dermot is Irish?

JustJohn

JustJohn Report 15 Jan 2013 18:33

Who is assuming anything, AnnC? My grandma had Irish logic and she was not Irish. She was Welsh

A neighbour (Mrs Iorwerth) once asked her what she thought of Miss Meredith down the street. "What do you think of Mari Meredith, Mrs o Ceallachain?" she asked.

Grandma replied "Och, Mrs Iorwerth. Mari is only as good as she ought to be" :-S :-S

FGS .... this thread has had so many topics it could probably go in the Guinness Book of Records , lot's of peeps have gone off topic,

Fun tho aint it ?
Watch out for the crutch wielding person to keep you all in toe , she is a stickler for discipline ,so it's said.

Is Dermot an Irishman ? I dunno.
Is Dafydd a Welshman ?..The ones I know are , but it's not necessarily the case.

Is Dermot the one off Eggheads ? ,if so I'm going to take a lie down otherwise I may faint with excitement :-D ;-)

JustJohn Report 15 Jan 2013 18:47

Is Sandie full of gr.... a very gritty person? :-) ;-)

Think the crutch wielding superstar has quite a few concerns in next day or so. Thank goodness we are all sensible and disciplined and can keep things totally on topic for her.

Hope we get a bit more info about what happened on Barry Island 13 years ago later this evening :-D And do we need to know any more about red pants and police cars stuck up Snowdon?

I expect you will be off in a few minutes to watch Emmerdale, Sandie. I am a big fan. Apparently Hayley Cropper (played by Hon Susan Nicholls) is very ill indeed but Roy is staying to run the Woolpack. ;-)

Yeah, when she wants to be ;-)

But this is all fun ,so we'll leave the grit for the men in their Gritter lorries salting the the roads tonight. [ Hopefully ]

Edit 19.01..Me thinks there's a fair bit of unknown editing going on after posting.
Off to watch Emmerdale >>>>>>>>>>>>

Edit 8 pm ....a lot of editing going on eh ! Funny how posts change after some one makes another post.

No way are me and MrD meeting Suzanne and Superstar tonight for more Pwllheli Spar research, Sandie :-D :-D

Sandie. He is not Dermot Murnaghan (jiuces subside). He is Dermot O'Leary of X Factor (juices bubble to surface again). Would you believe one was born in Colchester and one in Devon? Both Dermots must be as English as Rod Stewart and David Lloyd-George :-D
