Am meeting a friend for lunch today. Just waiting for her to let me know where we are meeting! She lives in MK so it's going to be a good old drive for both of us to meet half way! If she doesn't hurry up and let me know, we will be meeting for tea, not lunch!!

No, couldn't find him; I gave up last night. OH was rather concerned (not that it bothered me) that we may end up with men in black suits and sun glasses knocking on the door - lol. It's not as if I was trying to hack into the Home Office systems, :)

If it's raining Pauline, you can always take shelter in the betting shop and wonder what OH finds so fascinating. Just hope he doesn't ask you to place a bet while you are there or Maz will have to winkle you out!

I'm back safe and sound after a 135 mile round trip!!

We finally met up in Ashby de la Zouch at a lovely restaurant, had a lovely lunch and sat and chatted, and chatted and .........!

Reminiscent of last week Maz (apart from the driving)!!

Thunder and lightning while we were having lunch and plenty of heavy rain on the way there and back, but lovely sunny spells in between. There were 40mph restrictions on the M! because of spray.

Hope you have a lovely day tomorrow Maz and manage to miss the worst of the weather. The forecast has just been on and is not good for the east coast, central England and down sarf!!

evening all been out all day just having my tea .we have had some heavy showers here

It's been raining heavily tonight, so have been out paddling barefoot in the garden. Now going to sit on the throne and put my feet up again!

Hope you dried your feet off YG. the state of those cuchions, tsk. Mind you, after all that driving in poor conditions, we'll let you off this time.

Maz is certainly gadding about this holiday! Hope you and Pauline have a great time tomorrow and manage to find a decent tea shop to sit and gossip in.

Hmm, I think we need to find a tea shop to shelter from the rain. It's tossed it down most of the day here. Mind you, I went into Sunderland this afternoon and it was sunny and dry. I would have thought it would be worse at the coast but it was quite nice.

I'd better get some beauty sleep now, think I need about 6 months of it.......probably best if I don't look in the mirror.

Better go and look for my boots and raincoat.

Sounds as if you may have water in a junction box LG. (nodding wisely after many conversations with BT engineers) Hope it gets sorted out soon. You can always type in a word doc, then copy and paste here.

I'll just go and put the heating on, so Pauline and Maz can dry out when they get back. The BBC said that August is usually the wettest month of the year because of the thunderstorms set off be hot weather. What hot weather????

The Arkroyal has floated off its blocks and is heading to rescue Pauline and Maz.

And the cushions in the Throne room now have plastic covers on so YG can put her feet on them....just in case they are still a bit muddy!

I am back we have no piccies cos it was too wet ,no firemen ,just a coffee shop and a lot of nattering dodging showers in the shops .I had a lovely time and will be going back there are loads of charity shops my favourite boutiques

Well it's rained all day, sometimes fine rain and other times heavy but it's never stopped.

We took up lodgings in a coffee shop but after a couple of hours had to move, they were about to charge us rent.

We dodged the rain by going in and out of a few shops and then back into the coffee shop. It was too wet to go round the market and most of the stalls just packed up and left.

It was still a good day though, we had a good chat and got on well. Maz is very easy to talk to...........but then you all know that. Next time we'll try to pick a day that isn't forecast for torrential rain.

Just as well you put the heating on DET, we need to dry out now.
