LG your bathroom will be lovely when it's finished, pity the workmen didn't do the cleaning as well. We'll have to send the cleaners from the lodge round to sort it out for you.

YG, I don't think my workmen will be finished until tomorrow but I'll send the dishy one down to you as soon as he gets my heating sorted.

Hi there. I am here. Catching up on some work work. I tried really hard to do lots of searching last night. And fell asleep. So busy lately.

Have just made email contact with a young member of a branch of the family with whom I had lost contact. So pleased. I have sent her the link to the family tree so she can see where I am with the project.

And will she have any knowledge of FW Hill - no, unfortunately!!

LG when your lot have finished playing the Champions Thingy do your teams go and play a normal competition or do they wait for the world cup of kissing and hugging.

My team is going for five out of five this week. Five losses from five starts. I am not brave enough to pick them in my footy pools. Or foolish enough I should add.

We just watched a WW2 documentary about London, the Blitz and the part the firemen played during that time. There were firemen and fire engines and all sorts of equipment. Fair brought a tear to a maiden's eye.

I'm off for a lurk, and to see if I can stay awake a bit longer tonight.

We had to go to choose and fit new ceiling lights. One had broken and kept tripping the fuse box. Being a lounge/diner, we needed a matching pair. We don't do anything by halves!

Well that didn't work. Had to go to sleep again. I think old age is catching up on me. Having said that I am trying an experiment this morning. Going to my fitness class in the morning so I don't have to go when I'm tired from work. Theoretically this means I will have more time to spend on the computer at night. Realistically it probably means I will be falling asleep at work because I am up so early. Truthfully I don't care either way.

Hope you are all well and fit and all your furnishings, fascinators and firemen are falling into place exactly as you would wish them.

Evening all, Aunty my Dad was a fireman in the Blitz in London. Some of the stories he told !!!

Hope the tales your Dad could tell were 'funny' ones, LG. He must have seen some gruesome sights. *My* Dad was a flat footed, heart murmur reject on his call up, and end up in the Home Guard. Can't recall him ever talking about those times, although I do know he & his parents were bombed out of their home and business on the Isle of Dogs.

Wonder what time it is over there. I am not burning the candle at both ends. I have started in the middle and am precariously balanced between either end.

If you do fitness first thing in the morning you have wobbly legs all day!!

Oh boy !! I deleted instead of edit LOL. I have been up early as builders arrive at 8. I got all the little chores done and now sat down to answer my mail. I am quite enjoying the rest from the dusting etc. But the noise is horrific. Hopefully they will be near enough finished tomorrow and I can have a good clean up over the weekend.

Hi LG. I have no commitments for the evening so i can play. I think my computer is developing a problem. Keeps going off line occasionally and I have to unplug the plugs then plug them back in again. I'd say one of the cables is beaking down.

There that is an excellent excuse if I fall asleep early!!!

Have they nearly finished the refurbishments. Send them over to Nut Lodge if they run out of things to do. That will give them something to talk about.

The extent of my exercise is walking back and forth (grin to JaneyC) to the kitchen and the kettle lol! Perhaps you need to eat after the session to replace the calories you burnt.
Manged to get up by 8 today as I need to go out at 10.30.

Hope you didn't spend too long cleaning LG. It's hardly worth it with the builders in. When will they be finished?

I got my heating and hot water back on last night, just as well because we had a heavy ground frost this morning, the lawns were all white.

I've finished with the workmen now so I've sent the dishy one down to YG, hope he finds his way.

And I have been tooing and froing between different sites searching for rellies.

It was 30 degrees here today. However that will be the end of the warm weather. We drop down into the 20s with rain next week.

Are you pleased with your renovations Pauline. You are all having different things done and I often wonder if the results are worth all the upheaval.

sponge cake filled with fresh cream, and two sausage rolls (home made) and four biscuits and a handful of carrot and celery sticks.
Well I had to do something to even up the scales. Whoops I forgot the handful of lollies. And I dribbled on the chocolates on the table, but didn't eat any of them.

I've been about since 4, but have been doing other IT things.

We went out this afternoon to a local NT place, doing the tourist thing. Lovely and sunny, but rather cool. It's amazing how one often ignores places of interest just because they are on your doorstep. I think its taken at least 45 years to get round to visiting it lol

*We* in the South are predicted temps in the low 20's at the weekend...and that's shade temperature and its supposed to be sunny! Now were is the sun tan lotion for our lily white winter skin? Expect you will be feeling cold next week Aunty...poor you :-)
