I was told to drink decaf - but that took the fun out of it. I cut back from eight a day to two/ sometimes three but cannot abide instant. Before OH finished work he visited his staff shop weekly and got me bags and bags of real coffee - he worked for a company that makes all sorts of sauces etc. The amount of sugar they put in some of their products is phenomenal.

Hi I am in sunny north queensland, although its blowing a gale out there at the moment some well needed rain.

Good evening Barbra, Pat and Tec

Shattered today. The thunderstorms forecast for today hit last night just before midnight. At first thr thunder was a fair distance away then soon overhead.

Rushed downstairs to unplug appliances (especially the pink surgical ones!) and telephone and give comfort to three cowering cats.

Needless to say, I haven't been for my walk, which is just as well as at 4.30 the heavens opened.

Tec, advise the Duchess that paint tkaes a lot longer to dry in the winter and may not be fully ready for Christmas

Thinking of Alison and her family

Have drunk my coffee now so Good Morning all.

Tec and Berona - sorry to tell you but 'evapourtranspiration' was not a word that I invented. I play-gerised it from someone else. If you google the incorrect spelling you will see his name. I did an assignment on Climatology at Uni and that covered evapotranspiration but I always thought it should be vapour as it related to water.
One of my foibles is I like to muck/mess around with words. My youngest always reckoned that it should be brooming and not sweeping.
If you combed with a comb, brushed with a brush then you obviously broomed with a broom. Sweep was a glove puppet on TV.

Good morning Perephone,

I loved your poem

Welcome to the Thread, Onwe, from a very soggy South West of WA

Barbra, Tec can't delegate the painting to me...I'm allergic to decorating: just the thought of it makes me break out in a cold sweat and if I so much as touch a paint brush I become a gibbering idiot....amd no comments, thank you

Perse,

My son aged 33 still has his Sooty hand puppet (Sweep's mate) from his early childhood

He has always refused to get rid of it!

Hello Onwe - welcome to the 'funny farm'. You might not be far from our Alison, who I hope is looking in soon and is feeling OK to-day.

Alison - we are thinking of you and hope you will let us know this evening how your appointment went. Stay beautiful.

Pat - just where are you? I thought you were a Pom. Am I wrong? or has Barbra been into the wine gums again?

Allan - What a woose - you could have taken an umbrella and gone for your walk in the storm. As for consoling the cats - I'll bet they couldn't find a spot under the bed because YOU got there first!

Tec - I'm only allowed to eat wholegrain bread - so when you have perfected the art of bread-making, I'll place my order.
I'm a little concerned that Barbra might be trying to take my position of your Advisor away from me. Please allocate another job to her so that I won't have to scratch her eyes out!

Linda - Allan is probably going to work to-day - thank goodness!, but after he gets home, we will have to roster the sisterhood again.

Sue - please hurry home!!!

Help!!

Somone has hijacked Berona, although I bet that they soon return her!

Berona posted on the Etics thread at 21.14 that she was making her wat to this Thread and, well, no appearance so far

Perhaps her steam mop ran out of steam and glided down to another Board

I admit I watched Sooty and Sweep with my children. Sue kept such a tidy house. Did you ever notice that she was the only one that talked sense?

They modelled her on Berona you know!

Allan - I can type fast, but then I wonder if I forgot something, and usually look down at the posts, then back up to the 'Reply' (and sometimes find that it's gone and I have to type it again), so by the time I hit the Submit button - another ten posts have gone in, and you have to go back a page to find out what I'm talking about.
And no - I came straight here - but had to read a few first. Maybe I'm a slow reader.

I preferred Punch and Judy....that Mr Punch knew how to treat women :0))

"That's the way to do it" in a mr Punch voice

To those in the UK, do you still have the Punch and Judy shows or have they fallen foul of the PC Brigade

Barbra,

Don't forget that I am the maid with hairy legs: it will be my job to take the bread and tea to the Decorators (painting type, not cake)

Hello Onwe from a very sunny day in Auckland.

Will mow the lawn today - and leave himself to the installation of the new pantry doors. The doors are okay but the house is skewiff - so there is lots of chiselling and removing of architraves etc.

Just been advised one more coming for Christmas Dinner - She is my son-in-law's mother - pops over from Guernsey from time to time. My daughter has been married for 7 years and now I finally get to meet her mother-in-law.

Well, I wasn't far out, was I? Seeing that I don't speak either Latin or Greek.

I guessed it would mean that you are the quiet type and so right - except for when you sneak over to the Ethics thread!

In fact, you are so quiet, we don't always know when you are around! I guess you will be busy now. What colours are you thinking of for the Dining Room? Tell the duchess to pick whatever she likes - then, if the old curtain don't match - buy new ones - new carpet/rugs too. What the heck!

Good evening Tec

Then especially for Linda

Panis angelicus..........Bread of Angels

Or for Persephone and her skewiff house........Bread of Angles

Hi Everyone,

Welcome Onwe from a cold wet windy Wales. Should you visit this thread often, you will come to realise that only Allan and I are sane.

Berona, I have appointed Barbra Mistress of the Wardrobe.

Allan, I think Punch and Judy are no longer considered PC.

Perse, I like your sons logic - he will go far
