an old map on Curious fox its always been known as Chatham Hill and New road like you said. Jeanette

There is an old map from 1869 available on the old maps website http://www.old-maps.co.uk which shows a few building just east of the railway arches which could be New Road or Chatham Hill. Is that the area where the pub is located. I find it amazing that there is a pub in Chatham that I have not been to. Now I know why I failed geography. Pete
