I will download PAF (again) and then do a gedcom download onto it and see if it works. And if I am a clever clogs I will tell you how I did it.

I am wondering if the reference to "incomplete file" is connected with the problems - aired on several threads - that people are currently having accessing their trees - there is everything from photos missing, only male ancestors showing, boxes funny shape, can't access this or that!

Could be that it would be worth waiting and re-Gedcoming your tree again when the hiccups are cured. (I'm not advising this, I haven't a clue, but it is a thought)

Maybe so. I have tried to GEDCOM 3 seperate times over several days and it always says the same thing and even my Uncle and Daughter who are more technical than me have failed to help also.
How long have these problems been going on for then Elizabeth?

Thanks Persey. I'm sure I am doing everything correctly but yet it still isn't happening for me hahaha.

I only noticed these threads the last couple of days - in fact I haven't had any problems and I've just been checking out some hot matches.

Incidentally before I replied earlier with the suggested navigation, I did re-Gedcom the GR tree to Paf to check the system, , as it had a lot of additions to it, no problems (though it arrived as a new tree, I shall porobably have to delete the old one - but that's not your problem)

Thanks Elizabeth and sorry to be a pain.

There seems to be a page of warnings now about GEDCOMS when you go to bring the page up..guessing there has been a lot of problems with people loosing pictures etc..bit scared to try again now arghhh

Donna I did it,

How? Well not sure really.

I downloaded a PAF file - and copied it so I would have a second one. Then I exported a gedcom off GR. This appeared to be useless I ran the paf file several times and tried to get the gedcom over onto it with no luck. I kept getting a notepad document which has everything listed but is too hard to contemplate. So I had my dinner watched Antique Roadshow came back and my PAF folder on my desktop's picture had changed to their icon of a family. I opened it and then was able to import my gedcom file into it.
Still don't see how one can print out heaps of generations but you can print out a 6 generation pedigree chart from it.
I think it was more a case of good luck than good management. So I wont say phhhhtttt. Bit of a laugh really.
