Just got another Trojan warning Win32:Gida [Trj] and redirected to another site when clicking on a thread. I am going to contact Genes.

I was just reading a thread on tips and my page disappeared to another website. Fortunately it must have been blocked by Norton's. Now off to do a spybot scan.

Errol's done sterling work over on the general thread (at least 250 entries). He recommends:
a virus scan with your usual anti-virus (AVG and Norton AV recommended);
a Spybot etc check for Trojans etc; and
a hard disk check for PerformanceOptimizer.

If you find installed Trojans, he has a fix that needs to followed to the letter - see pages 13-15 or so on that thread.

There also comments there on how the hackers are invading adverts on many websites; how it is a mouse trail across an advert that triggers it; and a recommendation on a McAfee product that steers you away from planted sites (entire websites mocked up by hackers, I think).

NB Best to read the thread on general in full - I barely understand what they are saying, so could well have misunderstood the comments.
