The 1914 marriage cert would confirm if this is the right John or not.

If Ada Probert Panting, born 1898 in Barrow-in-Furness, is the correct Ada, then she didn't die in Berwickshire.

The only Ada born 1898 and died in Berwickshire 1928-2000 was Ada Lea Morley or Sanderson, mms Baker.


For helpers' ref:

the Johnson tree gives no parents for Ada, and spells her surname Panton.
The daughter Ada (1921) died unmarried, in 02/08/2007 in North Shields, according to the tree.

My initial contact was Eileen Brown (Robson) my 3rd cousin I am trying to work back to great great grandparents, Eileen's family tree had limited information, she is the daughter of Joseph Robson and Jane Ann Chapman.

She would have been 16 at marriage.
You do need to buy that marriage cert, June. It's the only way we'll have any firm facts to work with.

I did wonder about her, just because she's the only Ada Panting born in a reasonable time-frame, and who survived past 1900. Others died in early childhood.

June, can you give us the year and exact place of her death, please, instead of just the vague "Berwickshire"?
And her surname.

However, knowing her age won't help us if, as I suspect, she moved to Scotland before Sept 1939, in which case she won't be on the England/Wales 1939 register.

What was Ada's surname at death, please?

Her death isn't showing on Scotlands People under either Robson or Panting.

John was born in Newcastle up Tyne but I don't know the date, I can confirm son Joseph and his marriage to Jane A Chapman is correct, I don't have any information about Ada Panting other than she died in Berwickshire Scotland and John died in Newcastle upon Tyne
