looking for the parents/siblings of John Robson who married Ada Panting in Newcastle Upon Tyne 1914

ErikaH Report 16 Nov 2018 16:33

His father will be named on the marriage cert

With such a common name, you'll need that for starters. Plus his age at the time, and address and occupation, which could help with 1911 census

ArgyllGran

ArgyllGran Report 16 Nov 2018 16:58

Four probable children of the marriage, all born Newcastle upon Tyne:

Harriet 1915, Joseph 1919, Ada 1921, John 1929.

June -

can you tell us anything about Ada, please, to help us track down John?
DOB? Parents' names?

Have tried - unsuccessfully - to pinpoint ANY of them in 1939.

No-one can guess - the cert is essential. Unless you know something you haven't thought to tell us...............

ArgyllGran

ArgyllGran Report 16 Nov 2018 17:13

I don't see any Ada Panting living in Newcastle in 1911.

Though of course she could have moved there between 1911 and 1914.

Re the possible death of Harriet -

There were two Harriet Robsons born 1915 Newcastle.

The other one had mms Carrott.

Possible death of the daughter Ada ??

Deaths Jun 1928 (>99%)
Robson Ada 0 Newcastle T. 10b 20

Possible death of son John ?

Deaths Jun 1930 (>99%)
Robson John 1 Newcastle T. 10b 32

But there are so many Robsons in the area.

You really need the marriage cert to narrow it down.

John was born in Newcastle up Tyne but I don't know the date, I can confirm son Joseph and his marriage to Jane A Chapman is correct, I don't have any information about Ada Panting other than she died in Berwickshire Scotland and John died in Newcastle upon Tyne

ArgyllGran

ArgyllGran Report 16 Nov 2018 20:49

What was Ada's surname at death, please?

Her death isn't showing on Scotlands People under either Robson or Panting.

ErikaH Report 16 Nov 2018 20:55

Get the marriage cert if you want accuracy

How do you know John was born in Newcastle?

When did he die? How old was he?

I know Joseph’s marriage is correct - your other thread confirms it as per the link I posted

EDIT:
NO, too old - see RG's post below.

I think that Ada would have been a bit old to have a child in 1929 ArgyllGran.

You're quite right, RG!
My wild shot was even wilder than I realised.

Assuming Ada had no middle name, and from a child-bearing and marriageable age point of view, this is the only possible Ada death Berwickshire 1928-2000:

FORSTER
ADA
82
1972
791/ 6
Gordon
