please can someone check news papers for me for an incident in which it killed my ancestor . he was a motor driver ( oil) The report was in one of the news paper ( I remember my nan telling me the whole story ,unfotunatley I was only eight at the time,She stated the the only piece of evidence to indentify him was a small piece of his coat..His name was james wilde born 1921 in Salford to parents james wilde and annie..

Can you tell us when and where this incident happened.

That's the problem, I don't know. possibley Salford or Manchester, my nan read abt it in one of the local newspapers

Do you know how old he was when he died?

If you were 8 at the time you should be able to work out an approx year of death

He must have been quite young and possibley even married ( as I can recall) with a young child....She would tell me how very sad it was,

Or is it that was when you were told about it ?

Even then if we have the year you were told then we would know it was before then

Shirley I didn't say I was eight when he died..I said I can remember my nan telling me the terrible story of her nephew when I was eight he could have died in the 1940s
and she continued to tell me the story over time, I would.nt question her at eight..so did,nt get too much info, just dribs and drabs along the way

I did edit more or less straight away but it probably didn't show early enough

There are other war deaths that may fit- remember that sometimes stories can get distorted over time, and what you remember, may not necessarily be the truth.
