Quite possibly - Choccy's S African marriage says her name is Helena Sophia.
Lena S is a derivation of that.

If you've been working backwards, then you may already know the full dob of at least one child which would match with the 1939 register. The surnames eg Brown & Jones are the ones they were using when they died.

There are notes in the margin against both girls names
22.4.42 against Doris
27.12.48 against Thelma.
They are likely to have married shortly before then and their ID or NHS cards updated with their new surnames.
