Robert was not killed in an explosion, I am sorry to say he was decapitated, something to do with the lift shaft.

Do you have James married to Elizabeth Chator Sonenwold in 1910.
Wasn't he actually John James Robert Glendinning on 1911 census?Married but wife at home with her parents.

Trees on ancestry have his parents as John and Mary Ann nee Carr, with no brother named Robert.

The 1911 clearly shows James as born c1887 Chester-le-Street

The tree on Ancestry has attached 1891 & 1901 for a James Glendinning born c1889 Washington

I am of the opinion that the Ancestry tree has included records for 2 different James Glendinning

There's a Robert of the right age.

The last post you sent me, I believe to be the family I am looking for, East Pontop is the address on John James Robert's marriage certificate. I have had conflicting info. on the mother's name, it could have been Jane or Mary, maybe the name Jane was remembered because of the daughter Jane or maybe an aunt. Of course names always followed in families those days, so it is easy to have many Johns, James and Roberts along with Janes and Marys.
